Opening disclaimer: I am only seeking to date others who follow the Paleo lifestyle, or at the very least, a strict gluten free diet. If you do not follow Paleo or gluten free, there is no need to read further. I would also appreciate being spared of any lectures for “limiting myself.”
I love bowling, hiking, camping, my cats, board games, logic, learning, my friends.
I hate smoking, drinking, drugs, dishonesty, cheaters, liars, phoney people, gossip.
I have an interest in nutrition. What I have learned these past few years is that the crap we're being taught in schools, by the government and by doctors is not the truth. We are being taught to fatten and sicken ourselves into obesity, diabetes, cancer, celiac disease and hundreds of other illnesses, all caused by foods eaten in the standard American diet. Then they push drugs on us for illnesses created by the foods in the first place! Heartburn? Here, take this pill. Nobody ever suggests eating healthier, because there is no profit down that road. I would like to return to school and study about nutrition so I can be certified to teach the truth to people about what to do to PREVENT illness, before they need it cured. Remember, that ounce of prevention…
I love company, but I also love me time. I am someone who is not materialistic, but I do like to treat myself to things that are more practical than pretty. I also enjoy going out to a nice dinner once in a while. I feel Valentine's Day was created as a diversion to the dark, dreary days of February, and men put pressure on themselves to do the right thing. Personally, I prefer chocolates over flowers on that day. But I like flowers for non-occasions best. I love nature walks and botanical gardens. I love the beauty of all seasons, but complain loudest about the discomfort of winter. I appreciate the stillness of a snowfall, and the beauty of the snowflake, as long as I'm cozy and comfy indoors.
I love live music. I enjoy small, intimate venues as well as a rocking arena that houses 30,000 Eagles, Rush or Pink Floyd fans. I enjoy ALL ROCK except death metal, okay? I prefer folk over country, bluegrass over country, and top 40 over country. Heck, a little Beastie Boys over country, too.
I have a sarcastic wit and don't apologize for my puns. I have a toilet sense of humor. I don't laugh or smile as much as I used to, but would love to relearn that trait once more. Somewhere along the way of growing up, I experienced the tragedy of growing up. : (
To be honest, I am not “just as comfortable in a little black dress…blah, blah, blah.” I am the epitome of jeans and a T-shirt. Keeps the wardrobe simple. ; )
I am youthful and feel it is important that my date is also youthful in spirit and looks. I am Jewish by birth and although I am non-practicing, I am seeking a Jewish mate for long-term—OR someone who is non-practicing in their religion and is okay with having a Jewish kid with me, whether through parenting or adoption. (This part was just revised, because there seem to be a lot of nice, genuine guys out there…)
If you've read this far, haven't been bored to tears, and want to chat with me, drop a line. It would be ideal if you had a lot to say in your intro, so I can learn as much about you as you just have about me. : )
POF just added a new field of how ambitious are you. Thoughts?! Doesn't that have to do with our level of interest and desires to reach plateaus…or not? For example, I'd like to learn how to swim for recreation, but not necessarily to be an Olympic competitor.
Biggest pet peeve on this site is getting a generic email saying hello…
Anything fun: dinner, movies, skating, bowling, hiking, exploring, antiquing, mini-golf, theater. What did you have in mind?
