About Me

Best described as the poster child for the atypical "athletic geek-extrovert" category, looking far and wide for a smart, witty, and outdoorsy companion.

I love running, biking and swimming [well to be honest swimming and I have a love/hate relationship, but it seems to be a requirement of triathlons, so we've decided to get along].  I just completed my first Marathon (Paris) in April and the Wildflower Half-Ironman Triathlon half-Ironman in early May. Currently on a half-marathon spree leading up to the Chicago Marathon in October and then training up for the full Ironman (Ironman Mont-Tremblant, Quebec) in 2013.  Finding a friend / partner who loves at least one of these is very important to me.

I love the water -- fresh or frozen!! Many of my activities tend to revolve around one of its many states. I split my time between coastal and mountain environs in order to experience the best of both.

I spend a good amount of my time sailing on Lake Michigan during the summer months. I race the Chicago-Mackinac every year (333 miles). When I'm not sailing, I can often be found hiking around somewhere in Colorado, California, the Southwest or Alaska -- camera in hand.

In the winter, the Colorado mountains become my primary haunt, but have been seen blowing bubbles at fish underwater if the need for sun kicks in in mid-January :)

Life isn't all running and work though.  I love great food and have a passion for music, theater and cinema.  A romantic picnic on the back lawn of millennium park is a personal favorite or being wowed at one of the cities many gastro-bars, letting the chefs and mixologists "surprise me".

I am a rabid traveler.  Over a million miles flying around in the last 10 years -- most of which is personal travel.  I love visiting new places, the more exotic and random the better.  Does the idea of hopping a plane for a weekend trip to china appeal to you?

Professionally, I am the CTO of a moderately well known tech company. My job requires the occasional crazy hours, but also affords me the flexibility to keep up with my outdoor and active lifestyle.

Interested?? Drop me a line -- if I don't find you first!
