About Me
Hello all! My name is Kate and I am at a wonderful point in my life when I am doing things for myself and loving every minute of it. I love to sing (I actually auditioned for the Sacramento Opera a few years ago, just for the hell of it; ended up making it to the top ten! I consider that a success!) and do shows/plays/musicals with a community theatre group (I actually have a degree in theatre from UCD--not that it's been terribly useful to this point but it's still an accomplishment I'm proud of).
I love being with my family, they are everything to me. I know you don't just get involved with someone, you are in with the entire family (in mine, it's pretty much like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, only we're half Russian/Swedish and half Irish--and we quote that movie all the time). I am looking forward to starting a family of my own in the near future, and I can't wait to share my life with someone. I know how ridiculously corny that sounds but I mean it on so many levels so I use it anyway.
I love I Love Lucy--actually, I'm a huuuuge Lucy fan! Not in a creepy obssessive kind of way, just super nerdy like reading tons of biographies, watching every episode several times, and I used to memorize useless trivia to impress my grandma's friends. I'm also a sucker for old movies, especially musicals. Not to mention comedy! Think Anchorman, 30 Rock, Family Guy, Californication, Borat, Mel Brooks, Robin Williams, Marx Brothers, and yes--romantic comedies too.
Music wise I like Alison Krauss, Bonnie Raitt, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Michael Bublé, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Ray Charles, Dixie Chicks, Pink Martini, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Glee. I'm a huge Glee fan--what can I say? I'm a musical theatre nerd and an ex band nerd. And believe me there's lots more!
Oh, and I love food. Seriously. One of the main reasons I work out is so I can eat pretty much whatever I want. I am also the least picky eater on the planet. I can make it look like I love even the only two things I dont really care for. I think I might be getting hungry.
I am quick witted (usually), occasionally hilarious (I am equally amused by those laughing with and at me), and as liberal as they come.
Lastly, I'm a bit raunchy. I can see no reason not to just put that right out there. My mind is often in the gutter, I love innuendo, and I am constantly amused by circa 3rd grade bathroom humor.
I'm looking forward to meeting some great guys here, and for lack of a better line to go out on, "You stay classy, San Diego."

First Date
On a first date, we could meet somewhere for coffee, with the possibility of moving on to drinks and/or dinner. Maybe we might go for a hike somewhere, go to a show in the city, or just watch a movie on the couch. A first date seems to me to be more about the person and less about the activity. If there's any kind of chemistry, chances are we'll both know it. :)
