Do you ever get the feeling that you are given the contained choice of running like hell after meeting that person who doesn't look even close to what they were pictured in their profile, and people who want to jump right into a serious relationship just weeks after meeting? It sure feels that way. Oh, yeah, what's up with the 1990s glam shots? Why do some people feel compelled to have old and out dated pics? What are you hiding? What ever happened to old fashioned dating and getting to know one another? Wouldn't you want to test drive a car first before you make a financial commitment? Well, if you feel the way I do then keep reading...
On the flip side, if you are just out of a boring relationship or marriage, and are looking to fulfill a rebound "bad boy biker fantasy" or looking for someone to rebuild your self esteem, I'm not your guy....I think that's pretty self explanatory, who wants to play Dr. Phil right off the bat... I also understand It goes both ways....Self confidence, strong self esteem, and an independent side, are big turn ons for me... Fulfilling fantasies can be a lot of fun too, but only in a long term relationship for me. So, if I put a big grin on your face because you know exactly what I'm talking about, feel free to send me a message.... :-)
I also like to add to the above paragraph... Do you like a man with tattoos? Are you comfortable riding on the back of a Harley? Are you comfortable with a man being involved with a Motorcycle Club? (Not like Sons of Anarchy...lol!) Have I scared you off yet? lol! I hope you are the type that can pick up on my sometimes sarcastic sense of humor... Oh yeah, I believe in being honest, upfront, and cutting through the chase.
I just moved to LHC last June from Northern CA. I'm more of an athletic outdoorsy type, but I like my restful and lazy days at home every once in a while....I like long walks, usually 6 to 10 miles at a time, hiking, and weight lifting because they seem best for my sometimes busy schedule.
I'm not big on wearing my hat on backwards or wearing sports jerseys. Whatever it might be, I do not live vicariously through others, I rather be doing it, rather than sitting on the couch or bleachers watching it. I do have to admit, I love watching auto racing, especially any kind of off road racing.
I'm retired military, I work out of my home, I repurpose and restore vintage lighting. I sell it on Ebay, local antique stores, and antique fairs. I plan on making day trips travelling to areas such as Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, and LA where I will do most of my picking at thrift stores or estate sales. LHC has some pretty good thriftstores too. I have a trained eye for valuable lighting, furniture, pottery, and paintings. I'm into 60s Retro, Mid Century Modern, Danish Modern, and Industrial. It would be nice to have a partner who has an eye for the same things.
During the week or on the weekends, I enjoy going out on the town, concerts, picking at thrift stores, estate sales, garage sales, hiking, sun tanning (bathing suit or birthday suit), riding my Harley, and just dressing casual. I really like dining out and trying new cuisines.
I listen to music such as Depeche Mode, 311, Deftones, Sublime, Social Distortion, all the way to Johnny Cash. I'm pretty much open to all types of music except for hardcore Rap.
I am attracted to a woman who is educated in life as well as Academia. If you are a self starter, self motivator, dreamer, and have the entrepreneurial spirit, we would get along great. Tattoos are sexy if done by a professional. I like the down to earth spiritual type, but, who is not drawn or immersed into far left liberal politics...I am socially liberal, but have fiscal conservative tendencies. My home, Harley, and trucks are all paid for. I am an artsy independent kind of a person, an old soul, and a Rockabilly at heart. I really don't fit into either political party. I do have to mention, if you drive a Prius with Obama stickers on the back of it, constantly eat out of a blender, and feel it is your duty to tell people what they can eat, you can stop right here and go onto the next profile. The same could be said for certain folks in the religious far right...I have an excellent moral compass and I don't need to be saved...lol! Democrats need to stay out of people's wallets and lives. Republicans need to be better at staying out of people's bedrooms. Hey, more power to you, I support your freedom of speech, in the past, I've put my life on the line to protect it. I am a huge 2nd Amendment supporter. Political groups such as the Progressive Movement, Sierra Club, The Democrat Party and what they stand for today, it's just not my thing. I truly believe that struggle and fear of failure breeds creativity, do you? When government provides cradle to grave benefits through the means of Socialism, creativity dies. Not to mention, you will eventially run out of other people's money. My brain wasn't hardwired to go in the left direction politically, again, my livelihood comes from my own hard work through the means of creativity and traditional Capitalism. I am all for being "Green" and for the environment as long as there isn't any attachment to Marxist ideology. If there was a label for it, I guess it would be Libertarianism, and I tend to swing towards the Tea Party. I also served in the U.S. Marines for 20 years. Like everyone else, I vote in the direction that protects my personal livelihood and freedoms. I hope I don't come across sounding pretentious or opinionated, but this site is about long term compatibility right? I'm a really laid back and happy guy, I'm not one of those angry opinionated people...lol! I do believe its okay to be passionate in what you believe as long as you don't push it on others. It's probably best I mention this now rather than we both finding out we don't see eye to eye politically on our first meeting...
