About Me
The basics are I’m from Texas and moved here for a job change in 2004. My favorite season in the mid-Atlantic is summer. Back home it was fall because summer is so long and oppressive, sort of like winter here. I do miss the hot weather though and since it’s so brief here, I try to enjoy it while it lasts. I come from a GREAT family and miss them very much as they are all still back home. I have a teenage daughter (14) that lives with me half the time and as you would expect caring for her is my top priority.
So how do you in general describe what you’re looking for? We’re all unique and I don’t have a shopping list. As I read profiles I see a lot of shopping lists and I tend to run from those. If we are going to see each other a lot, then it makes sense that we should like doing things together, and that means having a lot in common. Some people say it’s boring to have too much in common. No. I don’t think so. I suppose I am generally drawn to down-to-earth, girl-next-door types who are not averse to being seen occasionally during daylight without make-up and a lot of bling. That being said, chemistry is a funny thing and you just never know so I try to stay open minded. I have yet to get it right so obviously I need lessons.
Update: A word about honesty. Please be who you say you are. If things like age, physical attributes, education, etc. turn out to be untrue, that’s not good. Little things are important. Also, must be a US citizen. Thanks for reading and take care.
For Fun:
Avid cyclist, runner. Used to play a lot of golf. Also swimming, skating, rollerblading, hiking, camping, amusement parks and roller coasters, snow skiing, water skiing, sports, sight-seeing, movies, concerts, symphonies, plays, musicals, operas.
Favorite Hot Spots:
Hawaii, Estes Park, Co, many National Parks, places in Texas, Louisiana, California, Florida, OBX. I think the north rim lodge at the Grand Canyon is possibly the best place on the planet (even though I haven't seen most of the planet).
Favorite Things:
Coffee, being a Dad, Skiing in Colorado, Utah and the Sierras, Mom’s pot roast, sports, cheesecake, family and friends, ice cream sandwiches. Music – alternative (XM33, 36), the classics. The simple things in life. Other things in life ;)
