About Me
I have an innate curiosity about the universe, and am always finding some place new to explore whether it's near or far. Last year I took my first passport trip and spent two weeks in Peru. I love hiking, casual cycling, rafting, snorkeling, geocaching, and flying a stunt kite, among many things. I usually prefer to get away from the crowd, but from time to time I also like to go to a baseball game or a good show. I'm an amateur astronomer, and I do some volunteering. I would love to learn more about geology and archeology.
I am liberal in my views, and spiritual in my philosophy (as opposed to any sort of dogmatic religion). I like to live as free of conflict as possible. I believe that life is what we make it, and a positive attitude makes all the difference. I have had some wonderful adventures already, wrapped up a challenging and rewarding career, and look forward to having some fun while still making a difference in the world.
I have a pilots license but haven't flown on my own for about ten years. I would like to learn to ride a motorcycle, but if, for now, I can just go along for the ride, that's fine (I have my own helmet). I've been skydiving a couple of times, rode some ziplines, and had a few other adventures. I would love to find someone who can at least keep up with me!
Now that I have (generally speaking) more free time, I would love to share these adventures with a guy who also has a curious nature and an appreciation for scientific things. While I have truly enjoyed doing many of these things on my own, I know that sharing them with the right guy would enrich both our lives immensely.

First Date
I'd like to have a meal in a casual setting with plenty of time to talk and get a feel for the other person, followed perhaps by a walk in a park. This is a time that I don't think is appropriate for a crowd or a lot of activity that might take away from the experience of getting to know each other. And I'd like us to keep it light – no need to feel that we have to bare our deepest fears or worst mistakes. We can talk about whatever feels right, share some funny stories, and see what mutual interest arises.
