I'm a second year senior at Appalachian State University, majoring in both Music Performance - Percussion, and Music Theory & Composition. I added the second degree in my junior year, which prolonged my stay at ASU (however glad I am to live in the mountains for a while longer). After I graduate, I plan on continuing my studies in to film scoring and video game composition. My dream job would be composing music for video games and movies, however, I plan to eventually receive a doctoral degree in music, so teaching at a university would be very appealing to me as well.
I like to play video games a lot, but most of the time I find myself walking around, looking at the scenery and listening to the music. I find that studying for my desired occupation can be very entertaining. I am also a computer and electronics enthusiast, and have often thought about going for a third degree in either computer programming or computer science at some point in the future. I enjoy watching all sorts of tv shows and movies, as well as anime. I would love to visit Japan some day, and would love to speak Japanese even more (I currently speak English fluently, and French to a degree). I really enjoy fly fishing and fencing, but just being outdoors looking at the beautiful wonders of the world is often enough to make me happy. I also enjoy cooking for others (I can't stand just cooking for myself), and at one point earlier in my life considered becoming a chef, while learning to cook from my grandmother.
While I may be Caucasian (as far as the government is concerned), my heritage is fairly vast, and I have a darker complexion. I am somewhat tall and am overweight, however, I have recently lost a lot of weight, and am planning on continuing this until I get down to a normal weight. No secrets here. I play in the steel drum band at ASU, and love every minute of it, playing the traditional music of Trinidad and Tobago.
As far as religion is concerned, I was raised in a Catholic family, but find myself attracted to the ideology represented in the Hindu faith, however, I am very open to all religious ideas and affinities. To me, the message is more important than the practice.
I enjoy most music, at least for its importance in society and worth of study. I primarily like listening to music from movies and video games, especially the Final Fantasy series. I also really enjoy classical, impressionist, instrumental, and experimental music (as well as some J-Pop). I really will listen to most things, though I am less interested in rap.
