***Note: Going off the grid for a couple of months so that I can focus on finishing school with a bang. I've worked long and hard to excel in my classes but have been feeling somewhat apathetic lately. Less distractions should help get me back into the right frame of mind.
I love my job, but cannot wait to finish school this summer so that I can start teaching. I hope to teach K-2, if possible, because kids at that age are excited by EVERYTHING and their joy is contagious. They are also quite hilarious at times.
I like being outside as much as possible in the summer, and am especially happy when I'm playing ultimate frisbee. Patios are good, camping is fun, and I'm pretty much down for attending any kind of festival. I am not afraid to be outdoors in the winter either. Let's face it, this is Winnipeg and layers are key! Skating, tobogganing, and ice-fishing are all activities that I enjoy but did not get around to this winter... boo-urns!
I enjoy going to movies, but watch a lot more of them at home because of the freedom that it offers me. What kind of freedom you ask? The freedom to stretch out, eat whatever snacks I want, and begin the movie at anytime day or night. That being said, I will opt for the theatre experience if I think that seeing the film larger than life will add to the experience; The Hobbit, is one film that fell under this category (Star Trek Into Darkness, and The Wolverine will also fall under this category when they come out). I will watch just about anything, documentaries and foreign films included... but I am not a fan of thriller/horror movies because I don't like being scared (I'm also not a big fan of carnival rides for this reason). Yup, I'm a bit of a chicken... but I make up for it with my other endearing qualities.
I have a positive attitude, and always assume the best about people (unless/until they disprove my assumption). I am caring, I work hard, and know what I want from life. In a nutshell: respect, comfort, and joy. I can be silly at times, and tend to be most attracted to people who can make me laugh. I am incredibly friendly, and like to spoil the people I love with my time, affection, and little surprises.
I'm a bit of a nerd. I love words; puns and clever witticisms make me giggle like a school girl. After a hard day/week I think it can be just as rewarding to stay in and relax as it is to go out and socialize. I also love movies based on comic books (even though I never read them). Additionally, I love learning new things... How It's Made, The Nature of Things, and the science videos that they make you watch in high school actually interest me a great deal.
Some things I love: singing in the car, sushi, smoothies, bacon and eggs, scalding hot showers, and the smell of freshly cut grass.
I'm looking for a kind, affectionate, open minded guy who has got his life pretty much figured out; someone who will inspire me to try new things, and continue to grow. If you are jealous, or have no confidence, it's probably not going to work out for us.
My family is incredibly important to me, and we spend a lot of time together. Cake on birthdays is something that does not stop when you reach adulthood in my family, and that goes for cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents too. So, if lightning strikes and I meet Mr. Wonderful on this site, Mr. Wonderful should be prepared to attend a lot of family functions.
I have pictures that I don't share publicly, because I saw someone on here whom I'd rather I hadn't. I know that physical attraction isn't everything, but it helps.
