I'm David/Dave. I hate talking about myself, but here are a few things about me:
I can't dance.
I am a huge fan of Artofmanliness.com, while i may not agree with every article.
I LOVE TO EAT! Good food is my weakness, and thanks to my epic metabolism i can eat as much as i want :DD!
I am an optimistic pessimist! you will always find me in a good mood, and saying things like "Don't bite jawbreakers in half! you may break your teeth.... Well, atleast you wouldnt have to worry about that happening again XD" or somethng likely less lame but along those lines. Mostly, when something goes bad i'll find the good, when something goes good i'll find the bad.
Anything else you will have to find out for yourself, 'cause i cant think of anything else to mention at the moment.
What I’m doing with my life
Honestly I have no idea where my life is going or any plans to force it to go anywhere, however, college is happening asap. Ive been thinking about going to school in Australia, its a beautiful country and i've got friends there. Thinking Biology/Physics Major.
Ive become very interested in traditional japanese cooking, especially the various noodle dishes. With this in mind, i think i might try to open a noodle stand at some point(not until after college). Also, im interested in stone sculpture, but to get the kind of practice i need, ill need about double my current income, so thats in my semi-distant future. I want to learn to play cello.
I just bought a harmonica and harmonica for dummies, so thats #1 on my list atm.
Just got some insight on how to build a simple small forge, so i'm starting blacksmithing as soon as i can get to lowes :D
As long as im alive and always learning something new, ill be a happy camper.
I’m really good at
Understanding people; Empathy seems to be the only natural talent I have. Sympathy however is another story altogether.
Learning; I love to learn and can understand just about any process with a little explanation, I have a very mechanical view on things and can generally understand things just because they have similar parts or process to something I've seen before.
Cooking; I eat pretty much any time i get a chance, so ive learned to cook out of necessity. I can make something good from basically anything and am always looking for new things to mix into my diet.
My lack of materialism and spiritualism leave me floating in a constant state of limbo; With no real value found in anything aside from life/love/knowledge. In times of a death i believe that in the past actions of that individual's life, they will live on into the future. Many take this as cruelty or lack of love, but this is assuredly not so.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm bluntly honest and tend to say whatever is on my mind no matter how odd or offensive it may be. Physically speaking: I'm told i have kind eyes, and nice hair.
I find chaos more manageable than order; I am organized only by generalizing the chaos in my life, and funneling it accordingly.
I'm often told I'm kind and helpful.
Books: To pick favorites would honestly be an injustice towards the human experience. While there are some books that have touched me deeply, be this on an emotional or intellectual level, there are also works that i see as a true inspiration to all who read them; While i may have my personal favorites, my true favorites are those that can change the entire course of someone's life..
Movies: Hook and Big Fish. These are my favorites because no matter how many times I watch them, each time i get something new out of the experience. This to me is what makes a true masterpiece of film..
TV Shows: Something that stimulates brain function. Documentaries, Sci-Fi (especially Stargate, SLIDERS, and Doctor Who.)
Music:
Genres: Funk, Classic Rock, Metal, Indie, and just about anyting else that isnt pop music from the 2000's or Country.
Artists:Jack Parrow, Lakeside, ParliamentFunkadelicGeorge Clinton, Cream, The Who, Iron Butterfly, Eric Clapton, The Doors, Björk, Man Man, ZZ-Top. Thats just what i can think of ATM, there are a lot more.
As far as food goes, I LOVE food (except baked beans and corned beef)!!
