I am an epicurean, keep myself quite fit and love sport, while also enjoying more cerebral activities, and a good walk in beautiful surroundings is hard to beat. A night out is great, a night in watching a movie curled up on the sofa with a bottle of something is also wonderful.
Good food, wine and company makes my day....whether that's in a fine restaurant or round the kitchen table, I lived in France for 10 years and while sometimes they can be the most annoying of folk, their attitude to food is wonderful. Fortunately I still get to go back quite often.
I manage a manufacturing business, quite satisfying, not too stressful and pays the bills; in my spare time, I coach and occasionally play Rugby, although the latter takes it out of me a little more than it used to - the mind is still very willing but unfortunately the body is not so keen.
I write, read and listen to a diverse range of music, and try to be a great dad - the last one is not easy but is the most fulfilling...on the rare occassions I get it right that is! I've travelled around the world and have some interesting stories to tell about a life reasonably well lived.
I admit that I never thought I'd find myself fishing at the tender age of 44 ( I know, my age is listed at 42 -the perils of filling the initial form on an iPad, and they won't let me change it) but having experienced the mountains, valleys and exocets of life over the last few years am still of the persuasion that life is better shared. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy in my own company and have a great circle of mates, not to mention my now not so little ones, so there's loads to fill life but I do miss the company and complicity of someone who is more than a friend, with whom you have a deeper relationship, so here I am.
Probably rambling on now and am conscious that I'll do that if I ever meet you - comes across as being very confident but I'm sure that the more perspicacious realise it's just covering up nerves!
Well, that's me - I'd love to more about you.......
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
A great little restaurant, talking until we are asked to leave and realising that we are the only ones left - although a coffee and a chat would be fine too...
