I'm currently nursing a stress fracture in my heel that is limiting my mobility and making me stir crazy. It's from running.
I'm a military brat so I've lived in a lot of different places, mostly in the southeast. I moved to New York City 7 years ago, sight unseen, for work. It's been an amazing adventure.
I love all things sports - Rangers for hockey and the Saints for football. I play on a work softball team. I do yoga a few times a week and I run a couple of times a week. I like any group sports activities. I just ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon with a respectable time. 2 01. I started a swim class when I fractured my foot.
I have a great group of friends. I wish my family lived closer.
I live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I support local businesses and I know a lot of my neighbors by name. I love this area because it's the first place that I've lived since moving here that fosters a real sense of community.
I'm working on finding the life/work balance. I try to take advantage of every opportunity to experience something new and different. I'm learning to go with the flow instead of fighting to keep my life the way I expect it to be. And I'm trying to surround myself with ambitious positive people. Without being a hippy about it.
I want to find someone to eventually stay home, cook dinner and play board games with. Someone who wants to get out of the city - maybe do brewery tours around America or add some stamps to a passport. Someone I can introduce to friends and family.
