I am a toolmaker/cnc machinist for a really well known tool/hardware/appliance company. Can you guess the company? I pick up as much overtime as I can get. Due to our union contract, weekday overtime is mandatory, weekends are optional. I would like to move into management outside of the union in the future and until then I am able to get by on what I have. Getting time to be outdoors on my ATV is essential. It's a great stress release! No worries, no cares, just good friends and the trail ahead.
There's never a dull moment as a volunteer firefighter and emt. I've seen life, death and everything in between uncensored up close and personal. People I've known my whole life and complete strangers. It may have twisted my sense of humor a bit over the years... You begin to realize how precious life and good health really are after a few years of service. I am currently Chief of the ambulance. It's a 24/7 unpaid job that is often very hard to completely get away from thanks to modern technology. I enjoy it and have the best line officers under me anyone could ask for! I would love to tell you more about it over coffee or dinner. I might be a machinist by trade, but I also enjoy woodworking as a hobby when I can. I'm trying to squeeze more time in for cycling between work and everything else. Are you up for an adventure or two?
