So...I'm not very good at these things, hah. My name is Katie and I'm a college graduate with a B.A. in Mathematics. I plan to go to grad school.
I'm a self-proclaimed math nerd (but don't I kind of have to be? :-P). I love nature, literature, absolutely anything related to J.R.R. Tolkien, physics, etc. I play video games, though I haven't had as much time to game as I used to.
I'm not really all that hard to get along with. I'm shy, at least initially. Once I warm up to you, I'm a lot more fun and/or funny. I've been told that I'm pretty easy-going. I'm technologically-inclined and I enjoy tinkering with things. I'm still trying to learn more about cars but I've been really distracted lately. (Bonus points if you can teach me how to work on cars.)
And, believe it or not, I love a good workout. The post-workout burn is addictive. I'm working hard to try to lose weight, and I want to start playing sports again. (I played softball for about 8 years and basketball for 3 years. Then I played squash my last semester of college, and I miss it terribly.)
Humor is one of the best things life has to offer. As such, I must admit that my sense of humor is all over the place...I love puns, morbid/"black" humor, clean humor, satire, deadpan, and even perverse/sexual humor (to an extent). I'm pretty hard to offend.
I listen to a variety of music. I was raised on classic rock (Boston is my favorite band of all time) and still love it, but I'm also a metal head. Heavy metal, folk metal, Viking metal, black metal, death metal, thrash metal, pirate metal...I listen to almost any type of metal. Metal and classic rock aside, I enjoy Jpop, Jrock, Jtrance, bluegrass (on occasion), industrial, goth, folk rock...ok, let's face it: I enjoy music, haha. And I love a good concert.
Also: I value intelligence and education. I take my own education very seriously and I love learning. I am aiming to get earn a Ph.D. in Mathematics eventually.
If you're looking for hook-ups or FWBs, look elsewhere. I'm not interested.
Honestly, for a first date I'd feel most comfortable just meeting up for coffee or something like that. Simple, public, cheap, not a lot of pressure.
