Hello and thanks for checking out my profile!
I am a single professional woman whose life is in a bit of transition. As new-agey as it sounds, I'm working on getting past all the noise (much of which is in my own head) to determine what happiness really means to me. I've taken a break from dating for a while but recently realized that if I wait until I "figure it all out," I'll probably be alone forever! And how much more fun would it be to share companionship, support and affection while on this journey?
So - about me:
I love good conversation, new adventures and learning about different people and ideas. I grew up in NY but ended up in Southern CA for grad school and never left the West Coast. Friends would say I am intelligent, passionate and outgoing. I like being active and am in good shape but am not a hard-core athlete by any means. Hiking with my dog is great; so is reading a good book, seeing a movie or going out for Mexican. I'm especially excited about creative pursuits right now... just started attending a weekly writing group and am finding it humbling and challenging and enjoyable all at once. I also really want to learn Spanish and spent the month of February in an immersion program in Colombia... I learned a lot but am still far from fluent! My profile name comes from the fact that I'm an NPR junkie and spent two years volunteering/working/interning at a community radio station in Seattle.
My ideal guy is smart, curious and kind... everything else is negotiable. Drop me a line if you are interested! Be warned my politics are on the liberal side - I fit right in in Northern CA but am learning that it's a bit of a different story down here. :)
A simple coffee date is a nice start and if there's a click (so hard to predict ahead of time!), even better. I definitely like meeting sooner rather than later - not a fan of long, extended e-mailing.
