Hi, this is my 2nd year in San Francisco. I am getting more familiar with the area now, though there is still a lot left to explore. I am not in any rush to jump into a relationship. I'm just seeing what's out there in this big, new city, and hoping to make friends or have fun along the way too. When I think of settling down, I don't just want a body to keep me warm and company to keep me from loneliness, I'm really hoping to find a person I can see myself being with and working well with the rest of my life, someone who is specifically and remarkably a good fit for me. In the mean time, just being open, living life, and looking to meet all sorts of nice people.
I am fun-loving, kind, passionate, and smart. I can be genuine, sometimes to a fault (insanely honest, I don't beat around the bush). I also have a goofy side if I get comfortable enough. I have a great relationship with my parents and sister who live in Orange County. And, my grandma on my Mom's side is one of my favorite people in the world (we call her Nan). All of us are big animal lovers. I have been known to be a magnet for ridiculous misfortune. I think evil people are drawn to try to take advantage of me, because I can be very empathetic and nurturing, but unfortunately for them they are usually surprised by the very strong and empowered woman I am underneath. So just an advisory warning.... in case you are evil. ;)
I love colors. So, I love art and flowers. I love people watching. I love food and trying new restaurants in the city. I love San Francisco- best decision I ever made :)
Some youtubes I like:
CELERY MAN- Paul Rudd- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWX4GUYGQXQ
Some things about online dating photography:
Men, what is the deal with the the high number of flame breathers and flame throwers
on this site. Also, why are there so many of you petting tigers, leopards, or other
breeds of wild cats? Too many of you have these pictures and I don't know what it
Also I've learned that 9 times out of 10, hands down, in any group shot, the one who
owns the profile page is the least attractive of the bunch.
What I’m doing with my life:
I relocated from Orange County, California, about a year ago. I moved for an elementary school teaching position at a private school in Daly City. It was a long interview process, driving back and forth, and a huge blessing to be chosen for the job. Though my past experience was with 6th graders, I worked with the little guys (2nd grade) last year and again this year. :) I am looking for a partner who sees my job/purpose as a kind of charity that they too can believe in, in spite of the fact I can't do much to contribute to the financial pot.
The first things people usually notice about me:
People are usually curious about my ethnicity. People usually say I look Hawaiian, Hispanic, or Native American. But none of these are right. What do you think I am?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food:
It doesn't get any better than John Mayer, as far as I'm concerned. I have a deep seeded love affair with his music. Don't knock it, until you've fully digested his entire catalog. I am a huge fan of Glee, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Ugly Betty, Project Runway, and 30 Rock. I'm really starting to like Community, and Mad Men too. I love all styles of food (especially Indian and Thai), however don't eat any chicken or seafood (I just don't like the way it tastes or the texture). Books- The Brain that Changes Itself- I tend to like non-fictions about the human process, the brain, or emotions.
The six things I could never do without:
Money... life's a **** when you don't have any
Kids... seriously love working with them, they constantly entertain me
Friends/Family... people I enjoy, self explanatory
My own space... that I can paint and decorate to my heart's content
Acai bowls... gotta find a good place in the Bay Area still
Sleep... all people need it but I thoroughly enjoy it, as an activity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about:
NYAN CAT, ;) New and engaging lesson plans for the rugrats- I am extremely passionate about good education and shaping the future. What I am going to explore in the city this weekend. Please share with me your favorite discoveries :) I love this city!
On a typical Friday night I am:
grading, vegging, on a date, or out with friends at a bar. I love trying new restaurants.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit:
I have 2 cats that I love.
You should message me if:
You are charming and confident, if you can laugh at yourself, and not take my jabs too seriously. I'm looking for someone with the courage to do what is right and good, and someone willing to take worthwhile risks. I am not in a rush, but am looking for someone that might be a lasting fit. Willing to pick up some friends along the way as well. I have a weakness for a great smile and a quick wit. Say hi if you are interested. ;)
