I like to swim, bicycle on street or trail, camp, sail, boat, hike, ski... away from the crowd. I prefer wilderness.
Although I enjoy my job, sometimes it can consume much of my time and energy. I took my motorcycle off the road a few years ago. I miss it, but it isn't high priority. With a house, unfinished landscaping, autos, toys, et cetera, that need attention, my triage leaves a few items collecting dust.
I have a varied appetite for music, from Motown to classic and southern rock to progressive, fusion and jazz. Skip the head-bangers, rappers and old country music. I appreciate musical talent, a positive or thought provoking message... sometimes just fun music.
Most of my time is occupied by work, commuting, home and most importantly my 'not so little anymore' son.
My goals? hmmm... I think I've done okay. But my life is about each and every day. Tomorrow's not a promise.
Doing the best I can at being a father is what I am committed to. I'm not a lonely person, but it would be nice to find what I've been looking for.
I should mention a few things:
I am NOT a spectator. I don't sit watching TV or spend time on the PC long. Most of that is done while cooking and eating meals. I installed my first kitchen PC in the wall of my old home back in the early 90s. Now I have a large flat-screen with a wireless kb/mouse workstation that we can roll around the kitchen. TV, you tube, blue ray, browse, shop, or just crank up the tunes really loud and do the housework.
I try to limit my unproductive time. I sleep very little during the week, so 8-10 is nice on the weekends. I start more projects than I have been able to finish, but I am making headway.
I clown around a lot, but I take many things very seriously. I've been told that I am very intense.
I enjoy being social to friends and strangers, but in no way need a posse. I often feel free to go my own way. Some feel insulted that I choose not to stay in their click. I feel no one should feel that or obligated to keep me in their circle. I am very comfortable going stag anywhere, anytime.
Maybe you experience something like this. Maybe you've gone vacationing with friends and discovered that they expected you to follow their planned itinerary. Making a list of all the fun things you can do is one thing, but I a bit more relaxed and spontaneous.... just a bit : )
