About Me
Looking for a partner in life to sing with in the car (even if others are looking), and walk with in the park. Must enjoy getting out, having a good time, and laughing at goofy shit.
There are a zillion things left on my bucket list, and this is the point in my life where I'd like to share those things with the right person. Some of my favorite things are listed below, but travel and exploration are what I love most. That can include a quick weekend getaway, a multi-day trek into the wilderness of Arizona on a 4-wheeler, a train ride to Seattle, or a nice hike somewhere new and beautiful. So much to do, so much to see!
I've traveled all over the US, went to 31 schools by the time I graduated HS, and consider myself a nomad in many ways. My travels outside the US include Canada, and Korea (while in the Army), but would love to see the rest of the world, or at least the nice parts, someday. I would like to go on a cruise this year to somewhere nice.
I am an IT professional working for a fortune 100 company. I have spent the last 20 years raising my children with my ex, but that part of my life is behind me now. I have a wonderful 17 year-old son who lives with me, and a 19 year-old daughter who is headed for the Air Force.
I like a good variety of music, much of it I haven't heard yet, but looking forward to it! My primary music choice is rock of all varieties, including classic rock, and hair bands from the 80s. :) I'm not a fan of techno/electronica, or most rap, but I either enjoy, or occasionally tolerate most music. I like old country (Waylon, Willie, Cash, etc..), but not much on the new stuff. The Irish in me likes Celtic music, from traditional to the Flogging Mollly. I very much enjoy going to concerts, especially outdoors in the not-winter parts of the year. I also love some jam bands. Widespread Panic puts on a great show, and the vibe is just sublime.
I like most movie types, except gore-horror, but I do enjoy a good thriller, or suspense flick. I generally prefer movies that make you feel good when you leave, and even enjoy a good romance with the right lady. ;)
I have been mostly a carnivore for much of my life, but I have recently discovered the more vegetarian lifestyle. I'm not saying I won't enjoy some meat now and then, but I truly do feel so much better with it not a part of my daily life. To each his own on this, but that's where I am.
First Date
Very new to Utah. This is what I would be think of if we were in my previous city of residence:
A nice first date could be anything from a good walk in one of Louisville's parks, particularly Cherokee Park, to a sunset dinner on a patio somewhere, perhaps overlooking the river. After that, if things are going good, a trip to the Highlands for after dark entertainment, or maybe see who is at the comedy club.
So many things to do after that, but I like the idea of a quiet first date to allow conversation, and some time to relax around one another.
