• Good relationship with my family
• Well educated
• Good career
• Well traveled
• Emotionally ballanced
I'm a world traveler, Medieval Master, gamer geek, tattoo enthusiast (but I can hide them all from your mother if need be), linguistic nerd, techie, and avid academic. I believe that life is an adventure and I try to enjoy it as much as possible! I love spending time with my huge family and thanks to my 3 brothers I can pretty much guarantee that you don't have to worry about your friends shocking and offending me. I try to say exactly what I mean with a minimum amount of feminine dissembling and I'm not one of those girls who needs to chatter incessantly to fill silence.
I love exploring new cities and countries with the important people in my life- in fact one of my favorite things to do is get absolutely lost in a foreign city and have a grand adventure trying to get un-lost with my friends. I've spent 3 winters and 2 summers abroad and I can feel the wanderlust tingling in my toes calling for another adventure! (Or is it the thought of making out under a full moon on a rooftop in Athens with an unobstructed view of the Acropolis making my toes curl? You decide.
I'm work for a tech company managing quality assurance for a multi-platform software product, heading up customer support, doing R&D, and other various and sundry office operations stuff including carbohydrate delivery, beer purchasing, and engineer entertaining. I absolutely love what I do and the people I work with! We spend a huge portion of our lives at work and I firmly believe in making that time enjoyable.
I have my MA in English with an emphasis in Medieval English languages, linguistics, and literature. This means I frequently nerd out on knights, battles, armor, and the like. I have been known to translate Anglo-Saxon poems for fun, play D&D, and go to the occasional Renaissance Faire... in costume.
When it comes to entertainment my interests are pretty varied. I can listen to or watch almost anything. I'm currently obsessed with Pandora's Billy Idol station. It's the perfect classic rock/metal mix. Try it. Next time you hear Rebel Yell think of me! I used to game a lot (reformed Warcrack addict) but the demands of grad school steered me away from it. If you're looking for a girl who will occasionally pick up a controller and slay trolls or zombies with you... hi!
Above all, don’t mistake my awkwardness for lack of interest. Like any good geek I have my shy and socially awkward moments, especially when first meeting people. The more comfortable I get with someone the more my inner social butterfly comes out. ;-)
I'm an all around nerdball looking for someone to fall into mutual weirdness with. If you're the kind of guy who:
• loves to laugh (especially at himself)
• knows when to be mature (and more importantly when to be devilishly immature!)
• takes the time to properly spell in messages (I'm kidding... a little)
• would rather watch Doctor Who than Jersey Shore
then that someone could be you!
