So last week, I went to Lake Diablo for camping, hiking, fishing, friends, and family. By the 4th day, I hadn't caught a fish, not a single bite. I was sitting at a fishing hole that I'd caught many a fish in the past. A little Mexican kid came up to me, with fishing pole in hand. He asked me for some weights, he didn't have any. No problem, I gave him some. He asked me for a hook, he didn't bring one of those either. Bait he asks? I say sure. He cast his line, five minutes later he has an 18" trout on his line (my bait, my hook, my weight). He and his family just got to camp an hour earlier.
I thought about this for a minutes. I didn't get upset, irritated, or disappointed. You see, I'd done all the right things, tried all different kinds of bait, different spinners, different locations. I fished from the shore, fished from the dock, and fished from my pontoon boat. I gave it my best shot, and I got zip. I'm convinced this same thing is happening to me on this site. I've changed my pictures, sent many messages that were interesting, involved, included questions that were engaging (all the right things). I've replied to any message received from a person I found any kind of interesting. I got zip....
Sooooooooooo.....my hands are up in the air. I'm not trying anymore. If you're interested, send a note, none of that "Hey there" stuff, I won't reply, don't care what you look like.
