My name is Coty Batemon and I am 22. I have found that I'm different than most people my age, in that I have already chosen a career and I am well into it by now. I started working as a conductor right out of high school and have been working there ever since. I plan on staying until I retire. I love my job and can't imagine myself doing anything else. I like to tell people it was my dream job that I never knew about. It fell into my lap one day and I went with it. Aside from working on the railroad, I am a Cavalry Scout in the Army National Guard. I decided at a very young age that I wanted to serve my country and took the steps to do so. I've only been enlisted for a short time, but I absolutely love what I do in the guard and I love the opportunities it has given me.
Outside of work, I like spending time with my friends and family. I wouldn't say that my core group of friends is a large one, but we have been friends our whole lives and are a lot closer than most groups tend to be. I also enjoy taking spontaneous road trips, rock-climbing, rappelling, camping, hiking, and GeoCaching, and pretty much anything that will lead to an adventure. Some of my personal hobbies revolve around music. I began playing drums when I was 10 and it's something that I still enjoy. In high school I got involved in the drama program as a sound tech and it peaked my interest in recording and running sound for local bands. I set up a small, home recording studio and I enjoy playing around in it. Learning to play guitar is something that greatly interests me, but I have not yet tackled that project. I also collect CD's. It's a rare occasion that I download an album off the Internet. I prefer a tangible copy. I'm not sure of the exact number in my collection, because it's constantly growing. I try to buy at least one or two albums every couple weeks. My favorite band is Dave Matthews Band, but I also love John Mayer, Zac Brown Band, Train, Parachute, Led Zeppellin and many many more.
I absolutely love the English language. I believe that words are more powerful than anything else. Because of this, I spend a good bit of time listening to spoken word poetry on YouTube and occasionally I will write my own, but I usually scrap them soon after I write them. Writing is a way for me to organize my thoughts and figure out precisely how I feel about things.
I don't consider myself religious, but I am a Christian and have a strong belief that God sent Jesus to die on a cross for our sins. My grandfather was a baptist preacher and my father is a deacon at a baptist churh. I was raised in a baptist church, but by no means do I consider myself to be a baptist. I've been to many different types of churches through out the years and have decided that I don't believe in different sects of religion. I think one should have an extremely personal relationship with God and because of that, I can't consider myself to be one particular religion.
I am looking to find a woman who knows what she wants in life and is taking the steps to achieve her goals. I don't think I really have a specific type of woman that I'm attracted to. As long as we can get along and have some great conversation, then I'll probably like you. I do have a thing for girls who can sing, but mainly, I'm looking for someone to give my entire heart to. And in return, them give their whole heart to me. I think love is the most powerful force on earth and I want someone to share that feeling with.
I am a pretty laid back person and try to keep an open mind about everything. It takes a lot to upset me and I tend to put a lot of thought into something before I act on it. Very few times in my life have I acted out of impulse or emotion. I believe that people should be honest 100% of the time. I don't have any secrets, so if there's anything you'd like to know, just ask.
Anywhere we can go to talk and get to know more about each other is a good first date, I think.
I also really enjoy taking people rappelling, so for the more adventurous type, that could also be a great first date.
