I'm a very easy-going, laid back, happy person. I love to laugh, and love a bit of good, sarcastic humor. I'm a big fan of quality stand up comedy, but my favorite is the late Mitch Hedberg. I was a teen in the 90's, and still enjoy 90's hip hop and alternative music such as De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, Sublime, The Pixies, Jane's Addiction, Rage Against the Machine, Wu-Tang Clan, etc., etc.
My Bachelor's degree is in English and American literature and I enjoy reading. I usually veer toward 20th century authors from around the globe, and like a lot of historical non-fiction. My social life keeps me from reading too much though.
I'm originally from Ireland, and moved to Florida from there when I was 13. No, I don't still have an accent. I've been in Dallas for 7 years now and like it.
I love being with friends, whether at a local gastropub, at home with stimulating conversation and a good cup of tea, or at the pool, with LOTS of sunscreen! I enjoy movies, comedies are my faves, crosswords, darts, trying new restaurants, modern art museums, plays, lazy Sunday mornings reading the newspaper, travel, water, be it ocean view, lake, or just in the pool, LOVE night swimming (and the REM song affiliated with said activity), hiking, though not in the summer: I'm an Irish redhead, come on! Food trucks make me happy. So do bendy straws and people doing the running man. And good grammar and punctuation, so HOT! Life is in the little things!
We all know it's hard to sum yourself up for these descriptions, so if you have questions, feel free to ask, though please no XXX questions. Yet. :D. If my ramblings have appealed to you, I would love to hear from you.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
First meeting probably should be for a drink, alcoholic or non, somewhere reasonably quiet so we can get to know each other.
