Late blooming professional currently busy with grad school. I say late blooming, because I've obviously made some dubious career choices in the past; but hey, at least I can say I had a blast failing!
Still have a knack for getting into (and hopefully out of) trouble. No criminal record yet, so I guess that means I'm doing something right. Right?
I really have no idea how to 'sell' myself here, but I guess we should start with some interests.
I have a massive music and art addiction. My playlist is pretty eclectic. It ranges from Oldies but Goodies (Sinatra, Carpenters), to Classic Rock (Journey, Richard Marx) to Modern Rock (Oasis, Aerosmith) to Contemporary (Anberlin, Death Cab For Cutie), to Rap (Ludicrous, DMX, NAS).
Ah, yeah, I'm hardcore...
Lately, I've even started to listen to Country & Christian. Maybe it's just me getting sentimental, but there's something moving about song lyrics with meaning. And listening to Country and Christian stations also seem to make me drive slower, so... it's a win win!
Despite my affinity for the arts, I can't draw a straight line to save my life and seem to be a bit tone deaf. Needless to say, I've been "asked" to leave a karaoke place more than once (I worked in Asia. Don't judge). Apparently they didn't appreciate my rendition of "Living On A Prayer". Tasteless **stards...
Food and culture is an important facet of my life. I don't really get to do much travelling anymore, but road trips are still on my list. I even have a ready bag in my truck, just in case the whimsical urge for gallivanting strikes.
So needless to say, road trips to NYC and DC and perhaps a couple of other C's at Serendipity's will is always welcome. Getting there on time, is another matter though. I'm secure enough to admit that I have no sense of direction. But then getting lost is also part of the charm.
Trying new foods over great conversation is one of those things that never get tiring. There's really no better way to get to know a group of people than through cuisine.
Museums are a great ice breaker. Especially if you like people watching. People do the most questionable things when they think others aren't watching!
As to what I'm looking for, the simple answer is just someone with whom I can completely be myself.
Someone to be my Magellan on these unplanned road trips; just as long as you don't mind getting lost... often.
Someone willing to be silly and enjoy new experiences just for Gits & Shiggles, while being totally nonchalant about it. Someone with whom we can both learn and grow.
Easier said than done apparently.
I'm always open for new experiences and adventures. If you can't tell by now, I tend not to take things too seriously. Being goofy is a blessing. A bit of an adrenaline junkie at times, so I'll be that guy with a special ed smile on the zip line!
So if you're still reading at this point, we might just hit it off! Come on, take that first step. ^_^
