Who if not me and when if not now? I am passionate about being fully present in each moment to the world within and the world without. I live a self-examined life, and take great joy in the ordinary...being with my children, fresh picked carrots, folding warm laundry, hiking and camping, great conversations with friends and family, reading a good book, snails... I find the greatest adventure to be making and sustaining positive change, and creating and supporting healthy individuals, families, and communities. I'm generous, kind, smart, courageous, hard working, and I love to have fun.
I have long been interested in the impact of race and racism-I was in the Peace Corps out of college and am active in my journey to be part of a righteous and compassionate world. We don't own a TV and visit our library weekly.
I'm looking for my match-a kind man who is interested in opening, supporting, sharing, learning, teaching, creating-and being in partnership and family and community while playing like otters in and out of bed.
Well, there is a process for getting to the first date:
First I look to see if there is a spark of recognition through email and writing-do we have similar interests and/or values, is there depth to our written communication? If we speak by phone, does the gentleman ask questions, seem interested in getting to know me, share of himself, does he seem kind, respectful, intelligent? If so, then when we meet in person, even if that elusive spark is not there, I know I will have the pleasure of meeting an interesting man and that my time will be well spent in good conversation.
