My parents are in their nineties and still quite sharp and spry and seeing as I’ve just turned 60 in 2011 hopefully good genetics (and relatively “clean living”) should get me there and beyond. Been split from my ex since ’94 and while I got two great kids out of the deal (the light of my life, to be sure!) I don’t relish the idea of living out the next 3 or 4 decades on my own. I’m told I look about 10 to 15 years younger than my actual age (though sometimes I wish my knees would feel that way!) but there’s nothing like a couple of 20-something offspring to keep you young-at-heart and up on the latest trends (though I doubt I can ever see myself getting into playing videogames --- I mean, how many times a day does one have to destroy the universe to make life worth living, eh?). Anyway, I write comics and graphic novels and love going to movies (probably way too much!) and I tend towards a lot of basic rock n’ roll (Seger; Springsteen; Stones; Beatles, etc.) and classical rock (Yes; Procol Harum; ELP; Supertramp; Pink Floyd; etc.) but I’m a major sucker for soulful heart-wrenching stuff by Leonard Cohen; Sade; Simon & Garfunkel and the like. I’ve had a couple companies in the past, publishing and staging comic conventions, and managed a comic shop and done a dozen other jobs I’d rather forget about but the future is still open and I’m hopeful I’ve still got the creativity and the spirit to launch a few more ventures before I check out. How about you?
