About Me
What makes me unique? I'm a bit of a paradox. I'm active and look of the outdoors; however, as much as I have back-country spirit, I'm also thinker. Okay, I'll totally let the cat out of the bag: I have many hats. I'm a boy scout. I'm that guy that stays up way too late drinking kava singing songs. I hike into cool places in the woods and go camping. I'm an Engineer. I'm a Neuroscientist. I like to go fast and I'm an adrenaline gunky. I'm an employer.
I'm the kind of guy that loves to get up on a Saturday or Sunday morning, jump into the car or on the bicycle and go skiing, do a run around a lake, or climb a mountain. Part of me also loves to lounge around in bed on a cold morning ;). This morning was cold so I grabbed the laptop and snuggled in and got reacquainted with POF. Hence, I'm writing you to find out who you are and what you do on days like this. Are you outside, lounging around, or still sleeping at 9am on a Sunday?
I am told that I'm a bit hard to pin down and quite multifaceted. My training and experience have had me delve deep into a variety of topics and activities, while at the same time, I'm a regular sort of guy that is basically pretty simple.
I am also an organizer and make stuff happen. I meet up with people in the community to foster positive change, like internships for students and young adults to help them get their first jobs and to do the type of work they are interested in doing. I do public speaking and community talks.
What I look for in women is openness, vulnerability, and presence of mind. Sincerity is very big for me. I believe a meaningful friendship (or relationship) comes after each of us has done some hard work on ourselves. If you have read any Robert Bly then we already have a starting point.
My own actions always come from a caring place and usually a place of fun. I offer strength and support to my loved ones. I encourage those around me and I speak my mind. I do also have a serious side and take care of business as necessary. I have a strong sense of integrity and values and this comes out in my relationships and in my role at the office. I am no push-over and I will stand my ground on issues in relationship and of my own self that are important to me.
I tend to spend most of my time with people who are getting out an doing things, who are physically active, and who make that 'extra' bit of effort to have an interesting life. I don't have much time for people who drink a great deal or spend their time stoned. That said, I do know how to have a very good time and can meet random people and have adventures until 6am in the morning. If you're interested, I have plenty of crazy stories to share. Maybe that is paradoxical, but that is me :).
I like to be fit and strong. This is a standard for myself. I do have weaknesses like any other person and I have no trouble admitting to my mistakes. In such cases, my ethic is to move forward and learn from the past. If I am injured, I will lick my wounds and then get back on top. I work to better myself and grow.
I am very much a face-to-face person and I'm not a fan of getting to know someone through a multitude of text or email messages. If you're interested in connecting, my expectation is that we'll meet after two or three message exchanges.
