OK, is it just me, or is this harder than it needs to be? At this point in our lives most of us have all the "stuff" we need, so I'm not looking for stuff.
I have one (1) item on my bucket list that I want to take care of so that I can start a "new" bucket list to share with someone special.
1. BE DONE WITH THIS WEB SITE!
UPDATE: NOW OFFICIALLY RETIRED from full time education but will be back in the classroom off and on this year as a tutor/mentor.
Additionally, and I guess this is important. I am fairly conservative, but will listen to others views. If you claim to be "middle of the road" please be middle of the road and not a closet liberal whose mind is closed to other points of view. At least be honest about it
I am at a good place in my life, close to retirement, not 6'4", not wealthy by any means, but comfortable. And, as my headline says, I'm just a regular guy. After I retired, I tossed most my "good" clothes. I live in tee shirts and shorts or jeans. Do have a winter and summer sport coat for the right occasion, but that's usually once a year at graduation. I can clean up when necessary. I've already traveled the world but missed most of the national parks in this country and would love to visit them. That said, I still want to travel to Italy and Ireland, missed those on previous travels. Love teaching but am ready to walk away at the end of this school year. Ready to share my life with someone special. I miss holding hands, and walking arm in arm. Watching movies or listening to music is always better shared. So, if this sounds interesting, drop me a line. Also, I am 62, when I came back on this site it had been a couple of years and it didn't update my birthday nor would it let me change it.
I am a teacher and principal at a school of last resort for most of the student population. Many of these students have been in and out of trouble for most of their short lives. A large number are either pregnant or teen mothers trying to complete their high school education. I am currently working on my Masters in History.
I spent many years in the military which, combined with a good midwest family backround and Catholic School education, helps to keep me sane in this seemingly insane world in which we live in today.
I like to hike, but never seem to find the time anymore though I do ride my bike several times a week. I love the night sky and spend as much time as I can in Flagstaff with my telescope. Reading is a passion for me, and I read just about anything, of course as a history teacher, lots of history. Music of all kinds (almost) helps me relax, think, study, work, and gives me energy. My two dogs also keep me busy; walks, playing, or just attention - plus the fact that they both think they own a share of the bed.(They Do!)
Don't often get out to movies but watch a lot of videos at home. Lately I have been watching what are called "chick flicks" politically correct or not. I don't pretend to be politically correct, I am just me.
I miss holding hands, and the companionship we all need. That woman who will make me smile just by the sound of her voice, who will make my heart beat a bit faster when I see her face.
She will be first my best friend, for that what is most important. From friendship we can decide which direction to travel.
Coffee and breakfast, iced tea and lunch, wine and dinner; anywhere that a relaxing conversation can take place.
