About Me
Life is like a jungle gym. Sometimes you swing up. Sometimes you swing down. Location is irrelevant. All that matters are your friends all around you and the breeze in your face. Sure, some situations in life require a serious attitude, but like gas in a Prius, a little goes a long way. After all, I was admitted to college thanks to a combination of my many volunteer hours (some spent in hospitals, others in dunk tanks) and a compelling philosophical essay on plastic garbage bags.
When I want to be a little more reflective, I spend much time contemplating my spirituality and the meaning of life. So far, I've learned that:
1) I probably don't know a thing about spirituality and the meaning of life.
2) I want to embrace my Judaism every day and build a family that joyfully does the same.
Throughout my journey to improve my own small corner of the world, I cherish my family and my friends in good times and bad. Playing is such an important part of tending those connections. My favorite sport is canyoneering, which involves hiking, rock climbing, rappelling waterfalls, swimming, and generally getting very muddy. Or, there was the time I hiked the south rim to the north rim of the Grand Canyon in 14 hours of glorious scenery and muscle cramps. When I can't get that far into the wilderness, there are always those jungle gyms, plus mud puddles, snowballs, and cartwheels to keep me occupied…and don't even get me started on toy stores.
