Let me tell you about my friend Rude Dawg; his name couldn’t be farther from the truth. You know how a lot of bikers have the reputation for being very gruff on the outside & teddy bears on the inside? Let me introduce you to RD.
A nicer guy you could never hope to meet. All I think of when I think of Rude Dawg is the Wizard of Oz. He is as tenderhearted as the Tin Man, brave and courageous as the Cowardly Lion, after he finds his courage, of course, smarter than he realizes, like the Scarecrow and as lost and homesick as Dorothy. He’s looking for home, a woman who makes him want to click his heels three times to go home to her.
His first passion – motorcycles – the man is a genius! He can build, repair, restore, resurrect… He can bring back to life almost any bike you put in front of him! If the sun is out, he’s on his bike, sometimes I wonder if chrome runs through his veins.
His next passion: lending a helping hand wherever he can. He has helped campaign for his local city councilman; he believes when someone is honest, he will fight to the death. Did you lose the shirt off your back? RD will give you his, even if you didn’t ask. The first question out of his mouth –How can I help you? What do you need from me?
RD loves movies and music. Movies are great, but stay away from horror films, reality films are scary enough! He loves to laugh and as big and rough as he is…a romantic comedy can brighten his mood. Take him to a show, there’s nothing like being at a show, seeing a band and enjoying the rush of the crowd, the excitement in the air and being 6’6”, no one is going to block his view.
I don’t want to give it all away about Rude Dawg, but the one thing I have to tell you, he may be a steadfast friend, none fiercer that you could find, ready to laugh, but his greatest joy, his biggest accomplishment is his son J. I don’t know where you could find a dad more proud. J gets good grades, he is in the ROTC at school, has participated in local parades and now, riding alongside RD on his own motorcycle. RD raised J on his own since he was a baby and to listen to him talk about J is definitely a joy- his smile reaches his eyes.
If you’re interested in meeting my friend Rude Dawg, be prepared, he deserves so much. He lives life to the fullest and loves with his whole heart when he lets you in. If you’re only looking for a good time or a free motorcycle ride – move on. If you’re just looking for a friend and you still want to meet him, tell him up front, good friends are few and far between.
But… if you’re looking for a friend, lover, confident and someone to share your life with, treat him well, because I am never far away.
