Welcome to my profile…thanks for stopping by!
If you’re looking for someone extraordinary, you’re probably reading the wrong profile. Unlike those guys who climb mountains and jump out of airplanes, I’m more of a regular sort of gentleman. I was born and raised in Ohio where I learned the Midwest values by which I still live. I joined the Navy after high school, taught nuclear propulsion at a prototype in Connecticut and bored holes through oceans in a submarine for a while. In all I served 11 years before pursuing a civilian career of directing operations and maintenance of school facilities in New England.
I’ve worked hard all my life and saved my pennies. In 2006 I retired, moved across country and built a house on the side of a big hill I like to call a mountain. Here I’m surrounded by Nature with all her wonderful sights, sounds and smells. But something is missing…something tender, sensitive and caring. I miss the warmth and love that only a woman can provide to make a house a home. I miss touching and being touched. I miss saying “good night” and “good morning” and hearing someone special echo my greetings. I miss loving and being loved.
Although I don’t bungee jump or bull ride either, I do have a sense of adventure and enjoy new experiences. One of my main reasons for moving to the west coast was to explore the western half of our beautiful country. High on my bucket list is experiencing each of our national parks…Glacier, Yellowstone and Teton are next. Other than an occasional sporting event or movie, I watch very little TV. Given a choice of being outside rafting, hiking, camping, enjoying a picnic or staying indoors; you’ll nearly always find me without a roof over my head. When I’m not traveling or playing outdoors, I’m most likely dancing and/or listening to music. If I have a true passion, it’s music; and as someone once told me, “dancing is merely a physical expression of music”.
I’m not religious; but I strive to live my life guided by the Bible’s teachings and the Golden Rule. I don’t seek someone who is exactly like me. Rather, I believe the best and most rewarding relationships are built by those who are different, yet compatible and complimentary. To me differences matter far less than how we choose to deal with them. And if distance is a concern for you, it needn’t be…I’m quite willing and able to relocate.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you the very best in your search for friendship, love, happiness and for whatever else your heart yearns. Dennis
Lady's choice. It's very important to me that a lady always feels comfortable and safe; so someplace public and familiar to her for coffee or a glass of wine. If she's comfortable and interested, then a walk in a park, lunch or dinner are optional.
