I'm currently enrolled in my final semester of undergrad studies at SIUC and expect to graduate in May with a BS degree in chemistry. I was married for over 20 years and have two grown children who live in the Chicago area. My marriage ended amicably about five years ago by mutual agreement - now I'm alone and don't really fit in with the 20-something college students at SIUC. My studies are my number one priority right now but I would love to meet someone to share some companionship. I live in Carbondale right now (while attending school), but I'll be moving back to the Chicago region this summer to be near my kids and family. At least, that's the plan but it's not set in stone. Hopefully, I can get a chemistry job in Chicago but, if not, I'll need to move anywhere that a decent job (or a very good relationship) becomes available.
I consider myself a decent guy, but if you are searching for the "perfect man" then look elsewhere - I am not him. I'm a human with many flaws and foibles and I expect the same in my partners - if you're the "perfect woman" then I'm not interested. While I have no specific "type" preference in women, I am a great admirer of unconventional beauty. I don't really know what I like but I know it when I see it. Please drop me a message if you're interested. However, I won't go anywhere near you if your pet is large enough to devour a small toddler.
Full disclosure: I have neither seen nor heard from my ex-wife since she moved in with her boyfriend over four years ago. For all intents and purposes (other than immediate remarriage) we're "divorced" from each other, but technically we're still married. I selected the "Divorced" option in my profile because "Separated" doesn't adequately describe our relationship - "Permanently Estranged" is a much more accurate description of the situation. I'll pursue a divorce if I ever decide to get married again (doubtful) but, as things stand now, going to the trouble of getting a divorce is very low on my list of priorities.
If you're still interested, you can see some more pictures of me and my kids online (nothing obscene). If the link doesn't render properly, just copy and paste the following into the address bar of your favorite web browser...
P.S. - As a scientist, I don't think I can date a Creationist or other science denier.
