This is straight from my Ok Cupid:
My name is Mark and I'm gonna give this a shot. I am a very laid back type of guy who is more of a "on a whim" and less of a planner. I'm not a huge person to watch televised sports, unless it is a huge game or UFC somewhere. I'm also a little bit of a geek; love playing xbox with my buds, reading comics, playing some pen & papers or anything the like. Some of the other things I enjoy doing are walking or driving around aimlessly, going to the shooting range, playing with my dog, amusement parks, local stand-up comedy shows, weightlifting, being in the water, and I'm sure there is more than a handful of things I'm forgetting. When I can I drive down to my grandpa's property in the country where I go 4-wheeling, blow up fireworks, and just have carefree fun. Traveling is something I really want to do more of as well. I've already been to much of the US, Canada, and a four countries in Europe and I'm excited to keep "seeing the world" in the future.
What I’m doing with my life:
Currently finishing up school to be a Massage Therapist and am also looking into becoming a personal trainer. Come next year I will be going back to school to finish my medic program (was Firefigher/EMS prior) and get a degree in Exercise Science so I can get even more continuing education ans specialities. I currently work for my chriopractor doing chair massages, consultations, and follow-ups. Ialso work for my family's auto body and glass business when they need extra help.
I’m really good at:
listening and taking care of people. I take pride in the fact most of my friends talk to me about their problems and know they they can count on me on a night out.
The first things people usually notice about me:
Everyone always remembers me as "the big guy" and for my big legs
BOOKS: I tend to like reading fiction with war or sci-fi elements. In spite of that the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson is now perhaps my all time favorite. I also throughly enjoyed American Shaolin, and Becoming the Iceman is next on my list (both non-fiction).
MOVIES & SHOWS: Too many to list, but I think Scott Pilgrim is my favorite as of now Comedies are by far my favorite, humor is one of my favorite things in life. Animes, sci-fi, and action movies all take you for a ride. And who doesn't enjoy an over-the-top kung fu flick? I also have quite a bit of history and travel type shows in my insta-que.
MUSIC: I listen to mainly alternative, Rise Against being my favorite and hits from numerous other bands scattered between (Imagine Dragons and Macklemore lately). Hollywood Undead and Lindsey Stirling are two more that are currently at the top of my playlists. I also listen to some instrumental pieces from soundtracks or orchestras like Two Steps From Hell. I normally do not mind the pop/club music on the radio and I can only handle so much country, but I have a hard time listening to rap.
FOOD: There isn't much I don't like or won't eat, I'm a very adventurous eater. If I see something I haven't tried before or "weird" I almost always get it. Sushi is easily my favorite food. I also brew my own loose leaf tea when the urge hits.
6 things I could never do without:
The internet, my car, my friends, my phone, music, and my dog. He is a 5 year old Scottish Terrier, named Feeny who stays with my folks.
I spend a lot of time thinking about:
Where I want to settle down, things I want to do, or be able to do. Learning new massage styles, guitar/bass, start training for strongman competitions, dreaming up pen and paper characters, different fitness and health topics, martial arts, new languages, the zombie apocalypse, all sorts of things.
On a typical Friday night I am:
Hanging with my friends, whether at someone's house, a hookah lounge, or online playing some video games
The most private thing I’m willing to admit:
I consider myself one of the last of the dying breed known as the gentleman. It's sad really.
You should message me if:
you are still reading! There are a few things I look for in someone. Someone who pushes me and helps me experience new things I wouldn't have ordinarily done is huge. Someone in or actively getting into shape that motivates me. And of course, similar interests are always great! Just go ahead and send over a message and we'll see how things go.
I have nothing against the traditional "first date" of a dinner and movie. However, I really prefer activities that let you get to know each other more. That could be starting off by grabbing a drink, a bite to eat or relaxing at a hookah lounge. Then anything from mini golf or bowling, to doing something active, or simply wondering around somewhere.
