Waiting for Mary-Ann. Or Ginger :)
Stranded on a desert island. Now, the days are getting longer.
...is a bonny lass with a winsome smile and a heart of gold.
...looks pretty darn good walking barefoot in the sand with moonlight in her hair.
...can cast a backwards glance like you wouldn't believe.
...creates a sundial, using only some shells and a stick. Now, everyday, when the sun is high and the shadows are falling, she comes to me and with very great pride announces, "It's five o'clock, somewhere." Ha! I love that girl.
...can whip up a coconut-cream pie that's to die for.
...is becoming quite adept at accessorizing her limited wardrobe with palm fronds, seashells and vines.
...trains all the parrots on the island to say "Hey, sexy!" whenever she comes into view. LOL
...build a crude bow and arrow to hunt with. Like the hunters of old, I lie in wait in the teeming jungle thicket for my prey to come into view. Seconds go by. Patiently, I wait. Minutes go by. Patiently, I wait. An hour goes by. Oh, all of this waiting sucks! Impatiently, I now set my sights on other things and with great success. Today alone, I have already slain six pineapples, four papayas and a bunch of bananas. Apparently, my aim is deadly.
...can shinny up and down very tall trees with the greatest of ease. All of the monkeys envy me.
...construct a working radio out of parts salvaged from the wreck. But its range is limited and the only thing it can pick up is an oldies station out of Honolulu. "In the still of the night, hold me, darlin', hold me tight."
...can start a fire with just two sticks. (and these matches)
...shoot off the flare-gun every time something flies by overhead. You really have to be careful where you aim these things, though. They're much more lethal than they appear. So far, I've shot down two light planes, a helicopter and a flock of seagulls. Still, I remain optimistic that rescue is imminent.
...am working feverishly to install storm shutters on the bamboo hut's windows before the hurricane season begins.
...while away the hours, lazing together in a hammock whilst imbibing potent piratic potions. Ah, mortal bliss.
...fashion wondrous musical instruments out of the driftwood that's washed ashore and then play them badly.
...bathe in the rush of a waterfall. Exhilarating!
...are learning to love the taste of fish.
...discover a cache of buried treasure in a long-forgotten island cave and after pondering all the things we could do with hundreds of silver and gold coins, we quickly settle on the obvious choice. We skip them across the water, like stones in the sunlight.
...swim naked in the blue lagoon. Watch out for snapping turtles. Heh
...fall asleep looking heavenward thru the open skylight in the roof. It's great for star-gazing. But oh, when it rains...!
Let's be like little blocks of ice and melt each other with eyes of fire. Candle-light dinner on the patio deck. Dance to the rhythm of a steel-drum band. "Stir it up. Little darlin', stir it up. Come on, baby."
