About Me
Hi, i'm John - Average in looks but looking beyond the aesthetics, I'm a genuine, reliable, honest and straitforward bloke (unlike the dinosaurs - not all of us are extinct !!) with old fashioned values and percievably taken as being reserved until I get to know people well. I consider myself to be reasonably articulate and above average in decorum, manners and intellect. Although born in the U.K., having spent my formative years in Africa, I guess I have a slightly different outlook and approach to life than that of my peers.
No, I'm not perfect - yes, I do have my own idiosyncrassies but I am easy going, confident and generally have a positive outlook on life (everyone has off days!!) an excellent sense of humour and an abundance of T.L.C. to give to just ONE lady. As I unreservedly offer, I especially value fidelity, mutual respect, equality and trust - don't do mind games, don't have materialistic traits and I'm not a "player" - essentially core quaities and virtues emphatically embraced and I would seek reciprocated in a relationship. Despite the seriousness of all the above - I am a fairly laid back (by no means lethargic!!!) bloke who takes life as it comes, loves it and has a youthful but not puerile outlook on it, essentially a motivated and uncomplicated, "normal" bloke.
I'm looking for a lady with whom to share the metaphorical emotional roller coaster highs and lows of everyday life - someone caring, affectionate, open minded, conversationalist, who enjoys a good laugh but can equally be serious and sensitive, someone who is as comfortable in an evening dress as in jeans, for me to be there solely for (her family as well !!) conversely, her for me, (I've NO children, NO bunny boilers lurking in the cupboard and apart from a M.G.B. Roadster, NO emotional encumbrance either !! (joke about the M.G.) ) who is not afraid to be seen out anywhere walking hand in hand. I am fully aware that I am looking for an awful (but realistically so) lot in a woman but I more than confidently know that I can equally reciprocate the very self same high standard I seek !!
I'm NOT on here for a laugh, to waste either your time or mine, out of desperation or even looking for someone to have a one night stand with !! - what I am looking for though is someone with whom after meeting, dating (a quiant concept !!) along with the "chemistry" being there as well and getting to know one another over time, when together we would consider that time to be our quality time, that ultimately leading into a permanent relationship. I guess I am like most in life in just wanting to share some happiness with someone of the opposite sex, someone whose every day I could make just that much brighter and indeed, her for me!! because "one is such a lonely number".
I like tribute bands, (Robin2) - music genre ot that from the 60's, through to the early 80's in with the mix of light, popular classical, walking, reading, the history of literature, occasional meal out - be it either pub or posh, classic M.G. cars which occasionally involves weekend outings in the summer with club members and their partners - B.T.C.C. and the very occasional rugby, cricket match on T.V. - which I can either take or leave as I'm not an addict to the screen !!. in addition to which I have NO intrerest in football. I'm hopefully looking to meet someone with whom to share some of my interests with me and I, hers.
