I like the outdoors in good weather whether it's hiking, kayaking, fishing, traveling or simply doing yard work. The winter is great for reading, dvds, good music, cooking simple meals and good conversation by the fireplace. I don't take myself or life too seriously and would like to meet a fun and interesting woman to talk to and do things with once in awhile. I have varied interests and would welcome sharing those, learning yours and meeting your friends and family. Road trips, weekend getaways, B&B's, concerts, picnics and poking around book stores, antique shops and back roads are all fun with the right person don't you think? I strive for balance, live modestly and simply and have no pretentions or great ambitions left except to enjoy life and appreciate our many blessings. I try to practice the Golden Rule and treat people as I'd like to be treated so if you'd like to know more then drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you.
PS. We all value our hard-earned independence, old friends and personal time by this point in life. I don't want to change you or disrupt your lifestyle any more than I want you to change mine. I'm just looking for someone fun, honest and interesting to spend some quality time with. If something more develops that would be fantastic. If not we can still be friends and nobody gets hurt. How about it?
PPS. I honestly don't know if love will ever be attainable again but if there's attraction, respect and affection maybe that's enough or as much as can be hoped for. Either way I'd like to try just one more time! Lastly if you support the progressive political agenda and are pleased with the outcome of the 2012 general election let's not waste each other's time. I cherish the old America I grew up in and while there's room for improvement don't think it needs radical changing as much as a return to fiscal responsibility, common sense and traditional values.
LASTLY: If you want to say hello please don't just say "hey there". If you're interested say what you like about my profile, my interests or whatever you think we might have in common. Give me something to work with, don't be shy.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
It depends on common interests but it could be as simple as meet for coffee, hike local trails or green space or maybe enjoy a quiet meal in some out of the way place where we could talk and get acquainted. The most important thing is being sincere about making the effort to get to know one another. And a little chemistry or a few sparks to spice things up doesn't hurt. I am most attracted to women who take care of themselves by being physically fit, stay well informed, live a healthy lifestyle and have let go of any significant baggage or past regrets as I have.
