But instead I am going to make myself sit here and write this profile:
I live in Burnaby with my two buddies Gus and Skipper (Yes... I mentioned my cats). We live near a green space, it's quiet, beautiful and close to the city, but even closer to the lake and trail country in the Valley!
My job keeps me pretty busy during the week... but this is Vancouver, so I'm definitely not alone on that score. Work is fast-paced and hectic for me, but all-in-all I like it - we create buildings and try to have a few laughs! Weekends are wide open and that's when I try to fit in all the things I love to do:
Swimming (especially at Kitsilano Outdoor Pool - which is the greatest ever!), Hiking (Usually I go to Buntzen Lake), Paddleboarding (I'm gradually getting better at this), and taking a walk through the City. In cultural terms I read way too many serious philosophical treatises when I did my graduate degree, now I prefer books on the alternative to "out-there" side of the canon. I see a lot of movies but I usually track them on Rotten Tomatoes to see when the best one's are coming out. I think live Theatre is great and I love the whole idea that a small group of people can get together and create something spellbinding in the back of warehouse. Musically, I love any music that makes my soul soar - I keep my radio tuned to the Peak because I'm interested in listening to what's new, but the Classics are still awesome (and by now The Cure is Classic!). I've travelled a bit, and have a brand new set of air miles lined up to blow on the next trip - I'm thinking surf camp in Costa Rica.
I'm looking for someone sensible, who likes to laugh, have fun, and doesn't take themselves too very seriously. I have a romantic streak in me and I look for the beauty in the world. It would be great to meet someone who is open to new experiences, likes to be active, and cares about people and the world!
