About Me
I'll try anything once that is legal and doesn't kill me though I'm flexible with the former and negotiable for the latter. Otherwise I tend to whittle away my free time being a geek with video games (WoW, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2), anime (Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop), reading either a good sci-fi novel or some nonfiction bestseller that doesn't have the author's face on the cover, or surfing Wikipedia about New World domesticate crops and wondering how I got to the International Space Station a few dozen links later. One of the reasons I made this profile though was that I feel like I never have a good reason to be outside and it's making me a little stir-crazy, so if you have an outdoor activity you enjoy and can tolerate dragging a complete newbie along then all the better!
When I am around people my humor tends toward the sarcastic and dry though I don't say or do anything I wouldn't expect to have done right back at me. I think it is important that a person is able to laugh at themselves so I may try to poke fun at every sacred cow that has the slightest significance to you just to see how you react; people who take themselves or what I say too seriously WILL be offended. For this reason, the only deeply religious people I know are relatives who have to put up with me! It’s not something that many get about my personality (especially over the internet), but I can’t imagine having better or closer friends than those who do.

First Date
I think first dates should be about getting to know each other in a comfortable setting so I'd keep it simple with a standard meal followed by a movie.
For lunch, I'd go have dim-sum at a real Chinese restaurant, order all the weird (but delicious) food, then judge you by seeing how daring you were in trying all the different items (okay I wouldn't judge you, but I might still cajole and laugh at your expense). Dim-sum is ideally portioned for groups of four so it could even be a double-blind date in case one of us turns out to be a crazy stalker, but otherwise it would just mean extra points if you can finish off the entire plate of chicken feet on your own.
I don't watch nearly as many movies as I'd like so I'd be open to almost anything, preferably something we could watch at home so we neither feel obligated to stay quiet or fill silences with forced conversation. Alternatively, if there is nothing worth watching I'd find a cinema that is screening classic movies from the 80's or older and spend the entire movie making snarky/sarcastic comments about how dated/racist/sexist/hilarious it is; hopefully you'll be able to keep up
On second thought, that sounds like a lot for a first date. But if we can hold a conversation for more than 30 minutes without either of us checking the time then maybe it can be a second!
