I have a wide range of interests, and a great night for me can be anything from a quiet night on the couch watching a date flick with my girl, to a night on the town including dinner & dancing at a club. I am extremely affectionate, but I am in no way clingy or needy - I strive to be completely low-maintenance at all times. I have lost 50 pounds in the last year, and I look and feel great again. I am a former Marine Officer, and now I am an IT Executive.
I am looking for dating right now, and if things click, I will let things progress naturally.
..:: What I’m doing with my life ::..
I am the President of a Nutrition company and the CTO for a Financial Education Company. I also own a Computer Consulting company, specializing in Enterprise Web Applications and Internet Marketing (I know ... your eyes are already glazing over, aren't they?).
I love meeting new people, and learning from them as well as teaching them something new if I can. My best days are when I learn something new, or teach someone else.
..:: The first things people usually notice about me ::..
...is my smile. It is almost always there. I think smiles are truly contagious. I am a big believer in "acting as if" things are the way you want them to be. They will eventually get there, or at least you will feel better along the way.
..:: Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food ::..
Oh my...this could take awhile. Let's keep it short and sweet instead:
Books: Recently it is Freak-a-nomics, and a bunch of books about marketing and social media. Lately I have read far more periodicals and eBooks for my profession than "for fun" or general info.
Movies: Braveheart, Boondocks Saints, Saving Private Ryan, Fight Club, Inglorious **stards, Knotting Hill, About a Boy, Inception, Dark Knight, Ground Hog Day, Leon the Professional, and SOOO many more.
Shows: I do not watch much TV these days, but there are some good ones out there that I enjoy. And yes...I know some of these are off the air, but I leave them in as examples of my taste: 24 (my kids bought me the DVDs every year for Christmas), Two And a Half Men (Sorry Charlie -- I will miss you -- doubt they can keep it going without you, but I will still give it a shot), How I Met Your Mother (I don't care that NPH Came Out - Barney is STILL the MAN!!!), Big Bang Theory (Thank You, Chuck Lorre, for showing the humor of geeks with kindness and love), Justified, White Collar, House, Burn Notice ("WHAT ... IS ... BURN NOTICE?!?!"). There are a few others, but nothing else that I am currently recording on my DVR. I love shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, etc, but I usually wait for them to come out on Blu-Ray so I can watch a whole season at once. I am just getting caught up on Walking Dead and starting Mad Men. Oh...and Rome on HBO was amazing. Sheesh - now that I read this, it looks like I DO watch a lot of TV (but I really do not)
Music: My iPod collection is extremely varied. My son is a musician, so we are always sharing musical discoveries. There used to be a few genres I did not care much for, but I have found some bright spots even in those. Generally, I like music like the Eagles and Singer/Songwriters, I love the Standards, but I also love Rock, Hip-Hop and most Jazz. I even listen to some extremely heavy rock. Like I said, all over the map musically.
Food: Asian of all kinds is my favorite -- first Thai, then Japanese/Sushi, then Chinese and Vietnamese. I LOVE German food, and just about any dry-aged steak will work. I am eating a lot more healthy lately, so that is an interesting process: Finding fulfilling yet healthy foods to eat.
..:: On a typical Friday night I am ::..
...resting up for SATURDAY night. At the end of the week, I like to relax on Friday nights. That does not necessarily mean I stay home ... I just look for something calm and relaxing to do.
Then on Saturday night -- that is my time to go out for some real fun. I like to do all my "ToDo's" during the day on Saturday, so I can have a Guilt-Free night on the town and not have any commitments on Sunday.
If you find anything about me here interesting, please message me. I am always open to meet new people to see if there is a connection and chemistry. And I will ALWAYS at least reply -- I'm Bringin' Politeness Back ... Those Other M... ;-)
First dates are the best...if you go in with the right mindset and expectations. First thing is we need to pick a great place to eat that we both are guaranteed to like. I don't take chances just because it is "my favorite place" -- I make sure my date is going to love it too. Dinner should be nice and long ... we don't rush it. We have a few drinks (if appropriate), appetizers, and if possible, meals and deserts that can be shared.
After dinner, we head out to my private club. We grab our secluded suite right off of the dance floor, and continue to chat and laugh. But the music is getting louder, and they play a song we BOTH love. We hit the dance floor, and dance and laugh. You say the same thing as everyone else to me, "You dance pretty good for a white guy." I blush, and continue dancing.
The night ends with me taking you home, walking you to your door, and thanking you for the evening. If everything is clicking, I may ask your permission for a good-night kiss. Either way, I make sure you get in safely, and I head home thinking about the wonderful night we just had, and wondering when I will get to see you again.
The next day I am just dying to call you. I try to play it cool and wait, but by lunch time I am dialing the phone. We then start planning our second date...
