I'm going to fling this can wide open by listing a few of the things I like (in no particular order):
> Dogs, and women who love dogs. I like cats too, but I'm not a cat person, nor am I interested in a cat person. I'm interested in a woman who can care for a house full of children and dogs. Big dogs too. Not those little furry creatures you can stuff in your purse. If you have one of those dogs, you're just a cat person with a tiny dog. Now, of course, you don't have to have a dog- I just need for you to understand I embrace dog people better.
> Art and creativity and the joy of discovering something new. I like to stroll through an intimate sidewalk gallery and immerse myself in the arts. I like the grand museums with unique and storied exhibitions and historical artifacts. I like warehouse galleries and coffee shop poets and those weird little museums that house the curious and the unusual. And, if I'm at home, I'll watch documentaries. I'm a documentary and history nut!
> Movies and TV in a dimly lit room, fluffy couch, and a handful of popcorn slathered in butter. I won't watch any reality TV or game shows. Life is short and my free time is reserved for intelligent comedy and drama. If I'm staying in for the evening, then I'll be watching something rich with suspense or budding with laughter. It simply depends upon the mood. Not trying to be a snob, but I don't need to watch the folly of participants on reality TV to make me feel better.
> Music, as in I'm always listening to music. I'll admit I can be a snob here. Like Nietzche once said, "Without music, life would be a mistake." Although, I might be a bit snobbish, I do listen to all genres of music with the exception of the heavy metal genre and rap music. If you prefer guys who wear clocks around their necks or bang their heads in the air, then I'm not your man-boy. I'm certainly not a participant to the subculture of alienation and I will most certainly not support a genre that postulates violence. I like to listen to captivating music with compelling lyrics. If the artist is a great songwriter, I am listening to them.
> Sports, as in what sort of guy doesn't like sports? I don't watch a lot of sports these days- only during the post-season will I even bother to make an attempt to watch a game. It simply has to do with time constraints. Since I was born in Kansas City, I do follow the Chiefs (NFL) and Royals (MLB). For college, I follow Kansas Jayhawks. I do also support the Rays, and I'm a rabid Lightning fan. I also like to play golf and had been doing so all of my life.
> Adventure, as in life should be full of adventures! Oh, bless this wonderful land of flowers for creating so many opportunities for adventures. I love to take my super awesome friendly pooch on long hikes, camping, and to have him frolic on the dog beaches. I like anything related to water- swimming, snorkeling, and boating. Road trips and day trips to eclectic towns with a peculiar history and long tales to tell. The remarkable beauty of this state is not to be overlooked, and I'd like someone who craves the weekend adventure here and there.
> Cooking and Dining, as in life is full of riches and good food should be one of them. I not only like to cook, but I also like discovering new places whether it be a 5-star restaurant or a dilapidated dive with the most mouthwatering and delicious food. I'll eat most anything and I can be a bit adventurous when it comes to food, but I certainly don't hold a candle to Andrew Zimmern and his cache of bizarre foods.
> Kindness, as in people who are thoughtful and kind in a world gone all messed up and stupid according to the daily trash of social media outlets. Look, we've all had our lives interrupted or upended by ignorance and pain and miscalculated love. It hurts. We all hurt. But some of us carry it like an intimate war wound we gladly share with our buddies at the pub; while others seem to never learn to let go and make all others pay for the indifference of one who had pained them before, and therefore, all men are pigs. If this is you, and you haven't quite gotten over your ex or any man for that matter, please move on from here. I''m seriously too old for this. As should you be too. This should go without saying- I'm not your ex. I'm not like your last boyfriend. I'm a unique individual who can be trusted and will treat you with absolute respect, civility, and kindness. I will be your chivalrous and amiable gentleman. But, if you want someone to treat you like a rag doll, then I'm not your man.
> Lastly, I certainly commend you for making it this far. And, if you have, then I hope you have a pretty good idea of the sort of guy I really am or can be. If not, and you're even the slight bit interested, feel free to message me and I'll be happy to answer any of your questions so we can get to know each other better. Call it what you want, but I'm always believing something wonderful is about to happen. You should too.
