My name is Vanessa and I am Portuguese and Italian. I am a Mom to a 8 year old little man with special needs. For the most part, I am shy, quiet and soft spoken. Some people mistake this for being stuck up which is far from the truth. I am affectionate, loving, caring and have a big heart. I am honest and sincere. I have been known to be a smart @$$. I really try to keep as drama free of a life as possible. I hate to argue and will avoid it whenever possible. I prefer to sit down and discuss disagreements and try to find a middle-ground as apposed to having a shouting contest. I believe that fighting in front of the children is a big no-no. I really try and get to know people and all of their layers. In my opinion, you can't fully get to know someone unless you know and understand what they have experienced in life. The way a person feels about things and the way they are is usually because of things that have happened to them throughout their life.
I listen to country and rock music mostly.
I am looking for a serious long term relationship ONLY. I am a hopeless romantic and believe that somewhere out there is my soul mate...someone who not only is the love of my life but also my best friend. It would be nice to meet someone who is honest, caring, affectionate, compassionate and intelligent. Who enjoys going out every once in a while and having a night out on the town but at the same time doesn't mind staying in and relaxing. Someone who I could eventually come home to at the end of a horrible day and get a hug from and be told that everything will be OK. They would have to be able to take a joke and my smart @$$ comments...even someone who can joke back with me. I have met a lot of people who take things too damn seriously. I believe that in order for a relationship to work, it helps to have a lot in common. I am not one to go and change things about myself to meet the requirements of someone else.
