About Me
Hi POF'ers,
I consider myself to be a warm, down to earth person, often serious, (but don't take myself too seriously), love to laugh, and have a strong playful side. My friends tell me I'm a great listener, and they trust me with the personal stuff. I'm kind of "chill" (as they say these days) and can be a bit of an imp, given the right circumstances (think hot summer day...supersoaker...).
Communication is important to me--to express my thoughts and feelings clearly, reasonably, and openly--I'm learning. I'm looking for someone who who also places a high value on communication.
I enjoy many artistic endeavors--including writing (I'm published), jewelry making, mosaic making, and feathering my nest. I love doing projects around the home, and would participate enthusiastically in yours, given the opportunity (no heavy lifting, please).
Animals are near and dear to my heart. My companion of 16 years is my very personable, once feral cat, who I rescued along with her sibs. Although I don't have a dog now, I adore all dogs (so long as they're friendly). I'd love it if you have a pet!
As a born and raised Alaskan, I love nature, especially mountains. In Alaska, there was frequently a moose around the next bend, Dall sheep perched on a mountainside, or a bald eagle on a treetop down the block. I learned to keep my eyes peeled for the critters, and continue to do so here in Marin. Nature, big or small, keeps me grounded and amazed. If you're a nature lover, that scores big points with me...
Musically, I find myself listening to Alice radio a lot these days, but I grew up with classic rock, and also love Kirtan, and quiet meditation music.
I'm officially disabled due to fibromyalgia, and am working toward healing. This has meant slowing down, taking hikes that are more moderate than I'd prefer, traveling closer to home (though traveling is one of my favorite things to do), and spending time doing activities that require less energy. I love simple pleasures like cooking with someone special, relaxing with a great movie, enjoying a good conversation.
I'm looking for a kind and gentle man, with an easy going personality, to get to know, and ultimately to develop a partnership that's heartfelt, affectionate, fun, communicative, stable, nurturing and so on. I appreciate subtlety, humor, intelligence, honesty.
