Let's do this really quick!
Hobbies: I'm really into film so I love watching a movie whenever I can - at home when I have down time or just winding down after a long day. I'm a big fan of Tarantino and I have a little crush on Philip Seymour Hoffman (Javier Bardem is also pretty dreamy). I love stand up comedy - Louis CK, Mike Birbiglia, Lewis Black, Nick Kroll, Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford - all greats in my book. I'm also a big reader. I think John Waters nailed it on the head with "If you go home with somebody and they don't have books, don't **** them". I adore Kurt Vonnegut and Bukowski. Poetry is nice as well - Carl Sandburg is a favorite of mine. I also enjoy cooking, especially when I'm stressed out over school or work. I tend to bake quite a bit during finals week. My newest hobby is thrifting - I love repurposing and finding quirky new things. Finally, I'm not at all an outdoorsy person but I love the sun so when it's pretty out I like to go driving around or walking on the beach. I should really emphasize that - I'm a couch dweller and I abhor physical activity. Instead of parasailing I would rather spend the day watching a season of Breaking Bad.
I'm currently a student at CSUMB working towards my BA in Psychology (please leave your Freud jokes at the door). Contrary to popular belief, it's not all couches and clipboards - I actually enjoy the research end. I love working with statistics and am pretty handy with programs like SPSS. Ideally I would love to do the number crunching for research projects as a profession but that's quite a ways away at the moment. I'm still determining if I want to attend grad school. I think Berkeley or Davis would be lovely but, again, I haven't decided.
As for what makes me unique - I think I'm a little smarter than the average person. I try to be insightful and understanding. Keeping an open mind is one of my goals, but I have my principles and I stick by them. I'm secure with my intelligence so I don't try to constantly prove it to people - I think that's fairly unique. I've always been mature for my age, but I still like to be goofy with the right people. I'm sort of a weirdo, and I'm looking for someone else to be a weirdo with me. I'm also a romantic - I think little tokens/acts of affection are adorable. Another thing you should probably know: I enjoy food like no one's business. I'm a 125 pound lady with the spirit of a 300 pound man. If you're not down with pizza at one in the morning, gtfo. :]
As for music...like everyone else, I like a variety. I really hate having music pushed on me - one of my number one pet peeves is being forced to listen to something I'm not into and didn't express interest in. I have my music, you have yours, and sometimes they mesh. That being said, I like all the basics - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Modest Mouse, The White Stripes, Radiohead, etc. Right now I really like Mister Heavenly and Robyn. I'm pretty big on Nine Inch Nails and Tom Waits - they're generally consistent favorites. I listen to a lot of soundtracks as well. Hm...I think we've covered most of everything now. :]
Oh yeah! I have a cat named Leela and I love the little beast to death. I'm not really a cat person, but she's grown on me considerably. Maybe don't be allergic to cats, yeah?
