The Kind of Man I am
I'm confident and spontaneous but also a nice guy. When I say nice guy I mean genuine and honest, not Mr Meek who apologizes for breathing too loudly. I make sure my friends and family are happy and that elderly neighbours have enough Werther's Originals! ;-)
At the end of a 3 day workshop i did in the first year of my PhD, I remember being asked "what are you doing when you are at your best?". This was a fairly hairy fairy question so the first answer i gave jokingly was "does having a night out count?", but then it crystallized in my head immediately, i am interacting and communicating when am at my best.
This forms a big part of my character, I love socializing. The best aspect of this is the opportunity to meet new and interesting people. Which has meant i've made some pretty unique friends, who've brought me on some fantastic adventures.
As well as interacting with people, i love to interact with the world around me. Being outside and connecting with nature has been a long term passion of mine. I love skiing and mountaineering, also walking and camping. I am a born again Ray Mears, hunter gather ;-), but this doesnt come at cost of being a debonair James Bond-esc gentleman. I'm suave and smooth enough to charm my way into any conversation.
