About Me
Hey, I'm J and thanks for checking out my profile.
I always find filling out things such as this to be really difficult because, while I want to paint the fullest picture of myself, there's only so much the written word can do to convey to you who I am, why I'm here, and my purpose for being here. Maybe this is why we don't paint with words? haha...
At the core, I seek exploration, experience, and understanding. My favorite things in life are traveling, learning, and conversing with people. So far in life I have been fortunate to take part in many hobbies and activities and I look forward to continuing them as well as the next best thing that I encounter to which I had never known previously existed.
Ever since I can remember, I've always been fascinated by cultures not of my own. Although this is the case, I wasn't sure how I could translate this into a career because I couldn't put a finger on a specific degree program to pursue(if I could I would have taken every class the college offered in all its fields and departments). The part of the world that has always captured my interest the most is the Middle East. The reason is because it's always billed as being something beyond the ability to understand. In my mid twenties I enrolled in college and completed a B.A. in International Studies/Middle Eastern Studies this past summer. In addition, I speak Arabic pretty well and continue striving to become more proficient.
I am very much into all forms of artistic expression... The one form that I participate the most in is music. I've written and composed music of all genres, but currently I'm focusing on completing an acoustic album. I'm here on POF to interact with the people out there whose path I would have never otherwise crossed. Would I be happy if a relationship resulted from this? Yes, definitely... But that's something that should evolve naturally along the way free of upfront pressure and expectations.
We've all had some interesting experiences in life so far that have shaped the way we view the world... I would love to talk with anyone knowledgeable about the Middle East (or an Arabic native speaker), as this is my area of expertise, but I would equally love to talk with those completely unfamiliar but interested to know more. I also enjoy conversations about critical thinking, religion, politics, the paranormal, science, history, culture, and hockey haha. I've been playing for over twenty years and the game is entrenched in by blood by family heritage.
I also really enjoy hearing about the crazy experiences other people have had on POF... Every time I think men have reached the rock bottom behavior wise, someone shares a story that sets the bar even lower and I just shake my head haha... So let me apologize on behalf of the decent members of my half of our species ahead of time :-P
