HI-this is 2013 and here we are...the field is narrowing and we keep on believing:)
I am a divorced mom of a graduated son from MI State and a daughter at U. of WY. I have had an interesting life and journey, and somehow ended up in school through May 2011...Update; I graduated! I am truly "people-oriented" and my desire is to work in the Human Service field as an advocate for the elderly. It's a passion I have had for many years, and haven't followed my heart until now. I ended up with a Respiratory Therapy degree instead. I loved that too, but quit to raise my kids in the 90's. It was difficult going back to school but it has given me some additional knowledge about my strengths and perseverance as a person.(I always thought I was disciplined most of the time, but now I'm positive...and maybe crazy!:)
I can be very out-going; I love people and relationships. Some conflict and an ability to resolve them is huge in building love and respect and lasting commitments.
I am honest to the Nth degree and hope you can meet me there? I am passionate about what is "right" and the "principle of the thing", it's about truth and justice.
I love animals; in particular, cats. I also have a water turtle("Digger" is 18) and they are all sweet, and came as part of my divorce package 5 yrs. ago.
I love humor and comedy. I'm not a comic, but I do have a spunky sort of wit and can be quite the "character", so they tell me, and I will write you back...it's fun to be fun on this site:)
I believe spirituality and a Faith will bring us great joy if we stop and "listen" to the calling and follow our passions, no matter how difficult it may seem. In the end, it's about the meaning we attach to our lives, sense of peace and love.
Arts, musicals, craft shows, flea markets, classical music to include guitar and oboe, rock-pop, John Denver(I even went to his Memorial Service 1997),Josh Groban,Jackson Browne,Jimmey Buffet,Eagles and so many others.
Bike riding is fun especially on a tandem when I can cheat sometimes.
I like the beach, sand, and sun in California, where I lived for many years. Summer sports are no doubt, my favorite. This winter stuff is not my thing,but I am a good sport and am wiling to have fun doing just about anything with a good guy. I feel at home here in Denver so have made up my mind to enjoy all of the seasons. Skiing is something we may have to talk about:) I'm originally from a Chicago suburb;the rest of my family is now all over the map. We keep in touch, and my sister in Florida is my favorite sibling. (My bros. picked on me a lot as a kid. Aah!)
And lastly, but most importantly--is my faith in God(which I touched upon earlier). He has pulled me through many a scrape. I'm excited about sharing some of this with a special man. Don't be scared, it is an exploration to do together.
I look forward to learning more about you and you more about me. This could actually be a way to close the gap and grow through awareness. Here is to "US"! I wish for the best, now and forever....
