Update to the Updates: Inc. magazine has an interesting article on the founder of POF. He makes ten million dollars per year! Kudos to you Markus! Nothing better than not paying for a personals website! Markus if you’re ever in Texas dinner is on me bro! Update to the Update to the Update: I just finished grad school!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!! :-) Update to the Update to the Update: Recently someone told me here on POF that they wondering if my profile was real/true? I laughed upon reading what they wrote and told them YES it is 100% accurate and real. lol
Favorite Conversation Topics: I enjoy stimulating conversations on a wide variety of topics. I enjoy talking about life, politics, music, psychology, sociology, military, sports, travel, celbs, and just about any other topic that you can think of. As a total people person, I enjoy talking just as much as I do listening to others. I talk to everyone like I have known them my entire life. I love to joke around and make people laugh! Laughter truly is the best medicine! I think my humor really comes off better face-to-face and/or on the phone.
Unique: Probably what makes me unique is my resiliency. I think one can learn something from everyone and from every life experience.
Hobbies: I enjoy shooting pool, swimming, dancing, writing, walking the dog, camping, shopping, Dave and Busters, Main Event in Austin, going to sporting events, and anything else that is fun! Speaking of fun, probably one of the most fun times in my life was when I would hip hop dance at the clubs in California (Club Metro in Riverside was my fav). I loved dancing wild seeing the crowd cheer for me because it was a blast! Even now I still love to dance wild!
T.V.: I don't watch a lot of T.V. but when I do I enjoy watching the NFL network, cheaters, Punk'd, Amazing Race, Survivor, college football, SNL, comedy shows, and anything that is funny!
Goals: My current goal is to finish earning two Master's degrees. One Master’s in Criminal Justice, and the other an Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Psychology and Communication. One of my long-term goals and projects is to write a book about my cousins and myself about the challenges we have overcome in life, and the different adventurous paths in life that we each chose.
Music: I enjoy anything really from Bach to Heavy Metal. 80's music Enya techno (Benny Benassi) country (George Strait) whatever it's all good! I try to be as diverse as people when it comes to music.
Mood/Personality: I am confident but not over confident. I am assertive and am not afraid to stand up for myself or something that I believe in. Conflict wise: I always try to find a collaborative approach to each issue and refrain from the avoidance or aggressive conflict styles. I am honest and expect the same from others. I give myself permission to be human, which means I don't expect perfection of myself but excellence. I am a benefit finder because I truly see the glass half full instead of half empty. I am passionate about life and grateful for every day. I enjoy warm positive energy from others.
Life Philosophy: In the end, I think a man is truly measured in this world by not how much money he made or titles/degrees acquired, but by how many people he helped, the joy he brought to others, and what type of positive contributions he leaves for society as a whole. I don't mean that in a religious way, but in a good human being type way. Balance is also important as well. You have to have proper balance in all school, work, fun/play, and especially in time management.
Update: Recently I am have taken an avid interest in Laughter Yoga! It seems to be a fun way to manage stress for everyone. Why don't you join me? Wanting to try a public speaking club as well next (i.e. Toastmaster's).
One of my favorite quotes is: "LEARN TO FAIL OR FAIL TO LEARN"
I READ every word of every profile that I look at on here and don't just look at the photos. Looks do not mean as much to me as they did in my 20's. People age and looks change over time.
Since, I enjoy teaching others new things the information below may be helpful for people. I learned the information from a Positive Psychology online class that I took online from Harvard University last semester:
Exercise 30 minutes a day four days per week at the least
Do meditation everyday for at least 10 minutes
Laugh for 15 minutes per day if possible
Hug 5-12 times per day if possible
I am here for stimulating conversation and to make some great friends. I am up for meeting people at a coffee shop or whatever for some great conversation. If I did meet someone for a date, I would take the lead and take the girl to the Main Event in Austin or plan a really creative date, which I couldn't go into details here because that would take away the mystery factor. No matter how the date went, I would enjoy myself regardless of who I was with.
