I'm a professional, smart and funny father of two. I have my kids (11 and 14) half-time, and between them and other commitments finding time to date is a challenge.
Still, it would be nice to meet someone to hang out with once and a while. I'm hoping to meet someone passionate about but not obsessed with their career, smart and willing to discuss things but not needing to be always right, able to balance their intellect with their emotional self. You may have kids (indeed at our age it seems very possible) and that is cool. I am kid friendly but if you're anything like me it will likely take some time and trust before we met each others' kids.
I know my birth certificate says I'm 44 (and I've got the scars to prove it), but honestly I don't feel old. I still go to shows (sometimes). I love to jam with my friends (I play bass & guitar but will try to play any instrument you hand me, as long as you don't expect me to play it well ;-) I am very well read, love film & I'm a good cook. I grow a beard every winter (to remind myself I'm an animal, like all the rest.) I shave it off every spring. I try to keep it tidy but if beards turn you off, well...
I understand that meeting people online can be weird for some folks, and the convention seems to be to meet someone for a coffee or drink, which I totally get. So I expect we'd figure out something like that.
But once that part is over, if we actually wanted to go on a "date," well, how about bowling? Unless you can actually bowl. Because I can't, or at least not well. And doing something where we're each equally challenged could make for a fun time. Victoria Art Gallery? Skating? (actually something I do really well)
I love to walk on the beach and in the forest (Gowland Todd and Francis King parks are two of my favourite spots near town).
