Hey there, I'm Dane. 28 year old student at MSU, though I'm transferring to either OU or WSU to be closer to family and work.
I used to think that going to school, getting a great job making lots of money was what I really wanted out of life. That outlook is quickly changing. Happiness and family/friends are becoming more important to me than ever before. As finals week approaches here at MSU, I lye in bed each night dreaming of packing all of my possessions into my car and driving to either Boston or Portland. I want to see what else life has to offer. I want to learn things that I didn't even know were out there. I want to meet new, exciting and unique people. I want to make an adventure out of life. With that being said, I'd truly like to find a person to share that adventure with - even if it takes place close to home.
I like art, photography and cars more than anything. I am an incredibly visual person that seeks out the beauty in things. I have a silly sense of humor and thoroughly enjoy making people laugh - or smile at the very least. :^) I am attracted to girls with short hair for some reason, though not a must. Petite, girly-girls that know how to dress themselves are a major turn on. Larger ladies, ladies covered in tattoos, and those without "style" do nothing for me, sorry. :^/
I'm not a sports fan, so I have zero interest in spending an afternoon at Comerica Park. I'd much prefer to spend that afternoon at a 100+ year old pub having drinks with close friends. History and old buildings intrigue me. I would love to spend my life traveling the world, learning to cook and photographing it all along the way.
I have been a vegetarian for about two years now, though I eat an almost completely vegan diet these days. I refuse to give up my leather shoes and boots though, sorry. :P
There are a few things I have to add. If you're from Ann Arbor, it just won't work...ever. The only way to get me to Ann Arbor is with money, lots of money. Lol. Bleeding heart liberals give me a splitting headache, as well as those whom attend church every week and feel as if I should too. Sorry, that's not my thing..
I've recently started reading a book called Kitchen Confidential, by Anthony Bourdain. I figured I had better get on the bus before I see him live at MSU in May. I am a huge fan of both he and Gordon Ramsay. I don't spend much time watching movies, as they tend to bore me to death. I do enjoy my TV shows though. Here's what I'm currently watching - Mad Men, Dr. Who, Parts Unknown and Kitchen Nightmares. I don't do a whole lot of reading, but I do enjoy it from time to time. I'm a music guy, a hip-hop head at heart though I will listen to almost everything aside from most indie (it all sounds the same) and metal. Random fact: Eminem is garbage. If you disagree, you should probably hit the "back" button right now. ;^) Oh, I am indeed 420 friendly.
I am looking forward to camping this summer. While you'll very rarely catch me on a boat, or swimming in a lake. I do enjoy days spent on the beach and nights around a campfire. I love sleeping in a tent in the woods, "up north." I'd like to someday have a Jeep to take camping all over Northern Michigan. It just sounds like an adventure!
Though I have been on this site for a while, I've not found what makes me happy - not yet. I will admit that I am not the most confident guy when it comes to dating, so very rarely will I send the first message. I don't expect much out of this site, but I do like to see exactly what's out there.
With that all being said, the sun is shining in East Lansing today. I think I'll go wander the city with my new book and see what the day brings.
