I’ve been meaning to update this profile for a very long time so here it goes. First off, I mainly just come on here to chat with new people these days. I’m not looking to start any romantic relationships. I work at night and most of the time I’m alone. It gets very boring. Sometimes I’ll surf profiles on here because it’s entertaining and there’s an addictive quality to it. Let’s face it, some of these profiles are totally crazy-pants. Protip: please don’t say you like ‘all kinds’ of music. That sounds nearly as dumb as saying you ‘love to laugh’. If you think you like all kinds of music, well then I have some Yoko Ono albums I’d like to sell you.
About me? Well I am a quiet person in real life. I think I am probably way more interesting in print. I like to write and I have written first drafts of several books but I haven’t taken it any farther than that. I moved here almost eight years ago from the East Coast. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I still enjoy this city but I think I’d like to live in a few more before I die or before this place kills me, whichever comes first. Road trips are great. I love driving across the vast, open desert. It never bores me. Well, except maybe that stretch of desert between here and Los Angeles, that is pretty dull. I love to travel and if I had unlimited resources I’d go to as many places on Earth as possible. Unfortunately, Real Life keeps getting in the way and those video poker machines never seem to pay out when you want them to.
I love very good movies and very, very bad movies. I think most of the stuff in-between is kind of boring. There are a few TV shows that I watch regularly despite the fact that I dropped cable some time ago (thanks, internets!). I really enjoy good stand up comedy and I listen to a few podcasts by comedians like Marc Maron, Bill Burr and Dana Gould. I like humor in general and I try not to take life too seriously.
I’m old enough to remember a time when being called a ‘geek’ or a ‘nerd’ was never a good thing and certainly nobody would self-apply it but I do love the typical geeky stuff. I don’t read comics as much as I used to but I collect original comic book art when I can afford it. I go to several comic book conventions a year. They are a lot of fun and you get to meet some great people. Plus, where else are you going to see the dude who played the Gorn in that one old episode of Star Trek?
