I'm passionate about all the good things in life... Food, sports, music, art, movies, travel, adventure. I'm witty, sarcastic, easy going, outgoing, passionate, affectionate, artistic, cultured, educated, emotionally stable, and active. Good with most kids, not afraid of dogs.
I'm hoping for a connection but not expecting instant chemistry. If we have have enough potential where we can turn it into amazing chemistry, that's what it's all about. Most successful relationships I know develop over time, not in two hours.
I'm looking for a girl with a heart, someone who's practical but has flair, is down to earth but is also down for a night out on the town. Someone who can be themselves... effortlessly.
Random thoughts of right now...
I believe in the power of community. I used to write a blog and ended up meeting people from all over... New York, DC, Norcal, Seattle, Toronto. People would show me their cities, their favorite restaurants, etc. It still amazes me that us, complete strangers, ended up being transparent friends like that.
I went to a Yelp Elite event last month and exactly three people talked to me. The food was really good. The drinks, even better.
I once dated a girl. The last movie we saw together in the theater was "500 Days of Summer." I find that funny.
My fetish for obscure foreign films suckered me into a copy of Japan's 1981 Best Picture DVD. I found it used last month at Rasputin's in NorCal for $10. Amazon says it's worth $300-$1000. So yes, I will go to flea markets with you. And the mall too!
I bump into a lot of celebrities. I can't explain it.
I love the Lakers, Angels, and Chargers. I go to Lakers games about once a month, about 4 or 5 Angels games a year, and still haven't been to a Chargers game.
A few things I love:
Trying different restaurants.
Doing Concert Photography.
Music (playing and listening).
Foreign, indie, and regular films.
Playing basketball at the park.
I have a 9-5 office job, but I also run my own business and it's something I truly enjoy.
I'm a wanderluster. So far been to Brazil, China, Thailand, France, England, Canada... I feel like I'm behind!
Total music fan. The XX, The Cults, The Weeknd, City & Colour, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, the Smiths, the Cure, Lady Gaga, Adele, Jay Z, Glasvegas, Ra Ra Riot, the Cribs, New Order, Cut Copy, A Tribe Called Quest, Biggie Smalls, Kanye, Prince, Bobby McFerrin, She & Him, Sara Bareilles, Priscilla Ahn, Frank Sinatra, Sufjan Stevens, The National, John Coltrane, Radiohead, Classical, Jazz, Brazilian, Chinese music, etc. Love it all. A friend even dragged me to Toby Keith before.
The concerts I checked out in the past year: Haim @ the Glass House, City and Colour @ Club Nokia, Beyonce @ Staples Center (won free tix), Iggy Azalea @ Echoplex, Savages @ El Rey, Phoenix at Fox Theatre, New Order in Santa Barbara, Sufjan Stevens Christmas Sing-a-long at the Fonda, Bon Jovi @ Paramount Studios Backlot (won free tix), One Republic @ the Hollywood Palladium (won free tix), Sara Bareilles at the Troubadour, Foster the People at the Gibson, Jack White @ the Shrine, the XX at Hollywood Forever, Frightened Rabbit at the Observatory, Lianne La Havas @ the El Rey.
I'm a little nerdy. I think Star Wars, Disneyland, and Charles Eames are cool. Heck, I used to work at Disneyland! I love listening to This American Life, The Moth, Stuff You Should Know, Freakanomics, the Dan Patrick Show, and Intelligence Squared.
Not really into the club scene, but lounges and bars are ok, hole-in-the-wall restaurants... even better.
I also love looking up and writing about restaurants on Yelp, American Apparel t-shirts, wearing jeans, olive bread, guacamole, chips & salsa, Marche Moderne $20 lunch specials, 85C's sea salt coffee, and girls with sass and a twirl.
Walk with me. Get lost with me. Or just come wait in the food truck line with me!
If you're easy going and fun, just shoot me a message... I don't bite. Well, only when asked to.
