So, I was checking the "theme" photos looking for something appropriate that might further define me... didn't see any old rusty 40's trucks sitting in a long shadowed, afternoon field, a big weathered barn in the background, cattle or horses grazing around it. Looked for an interesting angle on a custom car, cycle or a sports car. I was thinking there might be a fly fisherman standing knee deep in water holding a fly rod at a 60 degree angle in one hand and a generous length of drift line in the other, intently watching a royal coachmen or a Mckenzie river special drift out of a morning shadow, just reaching the bottom of a riffle on a mountain stream with big firs or pines in the background, like in "A River Runs Through it". I looked for a sidewalk cafe or boardwalk scene set in a small resort or out of the way town, somewhere sunny with a couple sitting at a table, enjoying the moment, smiling at each other and obviously more intent with each others presence than the activities around them. I was hoping to see a couple cruising down a sunset lit remote beach highway cresting a rolling hill on a motorcycle with her hair blowing in the wind. Thought there might be a morning light, hill top 9th tee view at Bodega bay golf links, looking down the fairway, dew glistening on the grass revealing a pair of side by side footprints leading to a couple finishing up on the green with the sun lighting the bay in the background ... all to no avail.... The pond shot with the Koi, the two sling chairs on the beach and the bottle of wine with the two glasses & grapes were all appealing but, not particularly defining, including the one word personality descriptors... really now, I'm a crafty hands on thinker with both left & right hemispheres fully engaged and the situation determines which is dominant... actually frustrating at times :-)
professional guy but otherwise, very laid back at home, enjoy weekend projects, gardening, yard work/landscaping, remodeling, weekend or extended travel, wine tasting, Duck, Seahawk and Blazer games, racquetball, pickleball, golf, fire in the fireplace snuggled up with somebody special, maybe a good book & glass of wine on a rainy day and occasional community volunteer projects. I would like to find someone for intelligent conversations, adventures near & far, to spoil/be spoiled, be each others confidant, hopefully a long term and/or a permanent relationship. Please have your own life & interests, we can support each other in various endeavors and find common areas of interest.
oh yeah, disclaimers, so we don't waste each others time ;-).... I'm 6'2" about 215, I think most petite women are not attracted to me and I'm not necessarily attracted to them. While I do just fine in the corporate business world, I'm not a metrosexual or all things to all people, type. I'm right of center politically and I can't always be PC particularly related to business & fiscal responsibility. The philosophy that goes something like: "do the right thing and the right thing happens", has and continues to work for me. Recently retired and I don't owe anything except for taxes.
So, I know my political and Christian beliefs will not work for many of you and yours would likely not work for me. For the few who might think I would be interesting to know, enjoy men and all their "weirdness" (motorcycles, hot rods, sports, tools & the like) and like guys who know how to get things done, intelligent, not the life of the party but socializes and can carry a conversation, send me a note. I will prioritize you in my life, enjoy and cherish the things that make you unique.... I promise to be a gentleman, always, well, most of the time.... ;-)
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Something planned or spontaneous... I'll be mostly interested in you, getting to know you, I think we'll create our own ambiance, wherever or whatever we do.
